Haha. And on the one ocassion I managed a TD, the sales guy and the driver got on my nerves ..

"almost no fuel in car, we are allowed only 4 litres",
"why take that long route saar"
"please drive slow saar" ,
"please be in control saar or my job will go if something happens",
"car is new to you saar so not right to drive so fast",
"car is demo car although speedo is disconnected", followed by
"speedo will be connected when car is booked "

What could I do ? Drove it for a while, gave him a 'jhar' and told him that this is why HM does not sell.

Talking about the Honda dealership. Thankfully both Civic TDs went fine (Auto and Manual).
But it took me 3 times to get my first NHC TD. And they refuse to allow you to go to routes other than their standard route.

OT - Hyundai - same. Very tough to get TD. I guess you have first hand experience here

Toyota - Ask @shuvd !! But they did come for my colleagues' TD. This sales guy was older and more strategic.
In a conversational tone from the rear seat - "Saar, at these speeds if the tubeless tyre goes into a pothole, it will shred the rubber" - I was doing 180.

I've found MUL & GM to be the best in Kolkata. Polite and accomodating.

After Baleno, TBHP has found a new underdog in Cedia. Isn't true? Why should I say something for the heck of saying?
As our friend Zoom2 mentioned, Cedia will be a non seller because junta who is willing to spend 9.5Lakhs will for Optra or Corolla. So, I am sure HM will reduce Cedia price to match that of SX4.

Again, it was launched last year

I think you are saying it just for the heck of saying it...........where on earth do you see this trend, certainly not on this forum. But yes, between a NHC Vtec & a Cedia - is a no-brainer

Clarified butter and sugar in your mouth
Hope that happens soon as I am tired of negotiating with HM.

Since the New NHC refresh is about to hit the showrooms soon, how will it affect lancer cedia sales and price?

In Bangalore, With Lathangi automobiles, I had a different experience.

-> Sales person was polite and accomodating.
-> Fuel was more than half a tank
-> Took a test drive to nice road (To reach this NICE road you got to go through a stretch which has no roads at all)
-> If there was no speedo error, did 145 KM/hr at the nice road

It was an excellent experience with the Cedia

It could impact sales, which is anyway very less.
On price front; I think any NHC refresh will also see NCH price ries, so I doubt Cedia price will get impaced by NHC refresh.

Btw, is this NHC refresh confirmed now?

Also, I would suggest; to check with Mitsubishi manager on the future of Cedia in India, during your discussion later this week.

I sincerely believe that we need more people like diabloo and Zoom2 in this forum so that discussions would become more useful/interesting. They are truly representing the general car buying public (with full respect to them).

I would have definitely bought a Cedia if i am upgrading now (In fact I had reached very close to doing that) . I hate to buy any car which appear overpriced.

By the way, my friend is about to book an NHC Gxi(not Vtec) though he liked Cedia after driving both couple of times.

I understand from a friend of mine who is in auto leasing business, that NHC with airbags will be available in October, but will come at an extra cost. Can't understand Honda's marketing pitch, when these basic safety devices should be stock. They cannot have ABS immediately as NHC does not have discs in the rear.

Also heard - that the vtec is not really effective till one reaches 3500 rpm. In-city driving at lower rpm causes the vtec engine to have more wear and tear. Anybody know if this is true?

You dont need rear Discs for ABS, Swift has no discs at the rear.

I heard about the rear disc issue from someone who was explainign the lack of ABS in NHC, not sure if it is true. Any idea on the v-tec issue at lower RPM? This again I heard from a rival (HM) saleperson.

Gosh, that was scary--about the vtec, I mean.
Good that I bought Fiesta in March---I listened to my heart, though my mind said 'go for Honda vtec'.
Guess sometimes listening to the heart not only helps, but makes you live longer---given this situation
