A friend of mine had the same problem. He went to the RTO and figured out that the road tax he paid when he originally purchased the vehicle was deemed to be insufficient. The only way for removing the vehicle from the blacklist for him is to pay up the difference in tax plus interest/penalty on it. The way they detected the issue is by comparing the invoice value with the IDV in the first insurance policy - the latter was considerably higher. We think this happened because he did not take the dealer-provided insurance, instead opted for a firm of his own choice - and they used the ex-showroom price of a higher variant of the same car while calculating the premium. |

Do we need to go to the present RTO or the outgoing one? Seems like the "NOC issued" is from the latter. |

I had a similar problem for my Hyundai Santro that is almost 20 years old. When I renewed the RC the MFG was recorded as "OTHER" instead of "Hyundai". To correct this I submitted a requisition letter to correct the mistake to the RTO. They signed the letter and asked me to take a photo as acknowledgement. They said it would take 10 days for the change to reflect. Around 9 days later when I tried to apply for HSRP again, it worked. Just got my HSRP fitted. |

Attn: YOUR RTO NAME AND ADDRESS3. Go to your RTO and submit this at the specific counter. In my case it was counter 15. You have to find out in your RTO. They will write the file number on the letter and ask you to submit it to the next counter. Here they will sign the letter and allow you to take a picture as acknowledgement. They will tell you that the process will take 10-15 days. You do NOT need to submit the original RC card or pay any bribes.
Sub : Rectification of Car Manufacturer’s name in Registration Certificate for Vehicle No. XX-XX-XX-XXXX
The car manufacturer’s name is mentioned as “OTHERS” due to which I am unable to apply for HSRP (High Security Registration Plate). This needs to be rectified as “XXXXXXX”. Please ensure that this is rectified at the earliest.

Both are not aware of what exactly the issue is. I am guessing they are not letting vehicle s older than 15 years to get HSRP:Frustrati |

Hello, I own a 1984 model Ind-Suzuki Motorcycle. The manufacturer listed in the RC Book originally was Ind-Suzuki Motorcyles. On Re-registration, the RTO at Bangalore (East) wrongly entered Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Ltd. Now I am unable to apply for HSRP plates as I am unable to change the name of the manufacturer to TVS Motors (Ind-Suzuki later became TVS Suzuki and now, TVS Motors). The RTO officials are asking for proof of change of manufacturer's name. |

The 15 year thing you mentioned is not the issue. It looks something else. Go to the dealership and ask them to call the supplier's contact person. He may have an idea. Also try what @automata has mentioned in his post above. |

The 15 year issue is not the case. I got my 17 year old car's HSPR done without any hassle. Please try again. |

Mine is a KA registered vehicle but I don't stay in Karnataka anymore. I occasionally drive down to Bangalore, so I would like to fix this by the deadline. Any idea if they ship the number plate to another state (AP)? In case anyone has experience of getting the same done in Prerana Motors in Yelahanka, please let me know. If shipping outside is not possible, this looks to be the nearest center. |
