When I did it - home delivery option was not available in Bangalore. You had to choose the place where you were willing to take your vehicle for fitting the plates. The options were only the authorised service centres of the vehicle brand you were buying the plates for.

Fitting they have to do. It requires a specialised tool to insert and snap off the rivet which you probably don't have lying around.

I ordered my HSRP plates from Celix and they came to my home and installed it. The technician brought a portable drill and to remove the old plate and install new rivets.

Re: HSRP mandatory in Karnataka | EDIT: Deadline extended to March 31st 2025

Quick question on HSRP installation. Is there anything needed from the showroom where HSRP is installed? I got it installed today and asked same question to them. Nothing is needed other than plates installation and putting the sticker on windshield according to them.
Any uploads or registration are needed from the showroom or my side to confirm the job completion?

When I try to order my HSRP sticker, it says " The registration date of this CHASSIS NUMBER/VIN NUMBER/FRAME NUMBER is after 31/12/2021."
Is there any way to get it done?

Nothing to be done from the end-user/car owner side. When I got my HSRP fixed, the dealer took a couple of pictures on their mobile phone and uploaded it to some portal. But it was their head-ache.

Re: HSRP mandatory in Karnataka | EDIT: Deadline extended to March 31st 2025

There is no coordination between lawmakers and implementers; on the one hand, they set a deadline of March 31, 2025, for implementation; on the other hand, the RTO did nothing to prevent the selling/buying of used cars without HSRPs. Who is going to track how many such used cars have been sold and their compliance with HSRPs?

Got this done for both of my cars but no sms or email confirming anything. Wonder how this is tracked and acknowledged. Is it just a formality and a brief relief until next registration plate law comes in? Atleast cops won't stop me for not having proper plates anymore.
