1. If I attempt an address change now, can it be done in time to get the HSRP before the deadline? |
Address change shouldn't take more than a week.

2. Since this involves change in RTO, I guess it would mean a number change. In that case, what happens to the insurance?
|
No, the number would remain the same

3.In case the front/rear bumpers need to be replaced or removed for painting, does it involve replacing the HSRP?
|
Ideally yes, but there are enough worskhops that have rivetting tools available. They just go ahead, de-rivet and re-rivet the plate. If the plate is damaged, they'd need to be ordered and fitted.

Don't think you have to change number if you relocate within the same state (or if the vehicle is sold to a new owner within the same state). And in Bangalore, as many dealers have told me - you don't even have to register as first owner in the RTO where your address falls (the three vehicles I bought in Bangalore, from three different dealers, have all been registered in KA53 even though I live in KA03 - because the number I wanted was available quicker in the former, each time facilitated by the dealer themselves).
Changing the address in the registration records is self-service via the Parivahan system. Select the option "Change of Address in RC" under "Vehicle Services".
You might want to consider changing your forum handle, though :-)

I have a few questions regarding how to proceed with getting the HSRP for my car.
|
1. Address change has nothing to do with HSRP installation. You can still select HSRP location based on your convenience and get it installed
2. For address change you need not necessarily go to the same RTO any more. The RTO where your current residence is could do it
3. The number remains the same and only the address gets updated in the Records and the new Card
The last question has already been answered below by @vigsom

Yes, I had booked 1 Sep. But I called them yesterday since I had plans to go that way and they said I can drop between 9 am and 6 pm any day !
Now, my plans changed and will visit them tomorrow or Friday :)

Address change on RC is now a Faceless service on Vahan portal and is extremely easy.
https://parivahan.gov.in/parivahan//...lated-services
You will need to authenticate with the vehicle owner's Aadhaar. The address from Aadhaar is populated to Vahan portal as new address. Pay the required fees online and you are done. Wait for 1 month and the new RC with updated address will reach the new address.

Does anybody know how to get one for manufacturers discontinued in India (Ford, Chevrolet, Mitsubishi etc)? I tried bookmyhsrp - it didn't show any dealers in Karnataka. I also tried makemyhsrp - it said no dealers, and to email them. I sent an email, but haven't received any replies. |
Please select Hindustan Motors from
https://www.siam.in/hrspsubmit.aspx?...1&pgidtrail=91 and Try
You may have to go back and change city and State

After banging my head with M/s. Rosmerta Safety Systems (bookmyhsrp.com) over multiple emails I gave up. Each time I get a standard canned response with no effort to even read the details in the mail or go through the screenshots and attachments I provided.
Finally, I have escalated the matter to SIAM through their official email listed on the web site with a copy to Secretaries in both Central govt. Transport Ministry and Karnataka State Transport Ministry.
Not sure if anything will happen but nevertheless have tried and hope for the best. |
@nareshtrao Tried the Bookmyhsrp.com website Today & was able to Schedule for a HSRP Fitment for our 2013 Global Ford Fiesta at Cauvery Ford, Binny Stone Garden, Magadi Road on Friday 08th September 10:00 am. to 12:00 p.m.. The tie-up is with Cauvery Ford ASC's.

Thank you for the update. I also managed to book at their Hennur centre for 8/9. Pity PPS Ford wasn't able to make it. :-(
I tried to book an appointment for my 2009 Yamaha FZ16, the first generation bike and got the following popup.
I reached out to Anurag motors on Bull Temple road this afternoon and the kind lady at the desk made a few calls and said bikes from 2012 have been uploaded on the Vaahan website. For the earlier models, one has to visit the RTO and get the database updated. Once done, then the online process of online request for HSRP can be started.
Has anyone here booked an appointment for their pre 2010 bikes on the SIAM portal?

I keep getting the error at BookMyHsrp.com "Please enter correct number for Karnataka registration" when entering the details for my Creta.
Any idea what could be the reason? |
Tried today and bookmyhsrp went through fine. Booked the slot at the nearby Hyundai showroom for 8-Sep.

There is no need for address change on RC for HSRP, just the number plates will be replaced with the HSRP ones
Any suggestions, if my KA car is Out of State currently, for the foreseeable period of HSRP Fitment?
Anyway to have these delivered to my address in BLR and do self fitment?

Self fitment is not allowed AFIK. Check if an arrangement can be made with via the associated service centers.
Finally, after a bit of struggle getting the booking, registered with Bimal to get the HSRP for my car. The booking process went smoothly today without any hiccups of getting stuck. I'll update this thread on how the whole process went. After payment confirmation, we can download a receipt which needs to be presented to the dealer.
Got my 2016 Q3 HSRPs delivered to and fitted by Audi Central. Very smoothly done, kudos to Audi!
