The press release says the LPG running costs are about Rs.3/km in the city. This still seems high to me.

LPG would give about 20% less FE compared to petrol.
Its like if in petrol it gives 10kmpl, it would return 8kmpl with LPG.
Considering the price difference between LPG and petrol, Rs3/km seems fine.

Rs 3 per km is good one, Cedia is awasome car especially after seeing red cedia in tbhp blre-chennai guys meet I am impressed with cedia.

Its really VFM car for what it offers, now with LPG its still better, LPG is available on Cedia select not sports, so red or yellow cedia won't come with LPG kits as per my knoweledge.

Regards,

Ravi.

Cedia Lpg! Is It A Good Deal

Guys saw this programme on TV about Cedia LPG. Claims 2Rs/Km on LPG. Price 8.5 Lac Ex Showroom. Also saw another news claiming the Cedia is doing well on Rally circuit. Just set me thinking. Is it a good alternative to NHC, SX4, Optra, Fiesta Verna etc??

Your comments please!!

Why is it Yikes ? I am sure you have no personal experience in LPG cars, right ?

I also saw the review on cedia-LPG on Auto Show on CNBC, itseems to be a very good deal indeed , if father wants economy he can drive on LPG if son wants to burn some rubber he can do that too (pure performance). Now this is what call "More car per car"

I think its a good move, besides when you need that extra performance, you can always switch to petrol.

the ceida is a good car, but has very less market share, in your country running costs is still a big thing.... hence the LPG version, it's got sequential lpg injection, so there is good fuel supply to all the cylinders, it should be good... and running cost that low will be great

Yes I do have some experience in LPG powered cars and that is why I said '' Yikes ''.

Actually someone close I know had a near fatal incident driving one of these cars, and from that day I started doubting the reliabilty of the cars. Maybe Cedia is in a different league altogether.

Of course many people might have had a lovely experience driving these vehicles but I think otherwise.

Cheers !!! P.S - Sorry if I sound offensive !!!

LPG doesn't necessarily mean it's underpowered. Its a good car.
