The Lancer Cedia now with LPG option

The lancer cedia with an lpg option has been launched a few days ago,did not find this bit on team-bhp hence posting it here.

Quote:
The Lancer Cedia Select is now being introduced with a factory-fitted dual-fuel option

HM says that the Cedia Select’s advanced microprocessor-controlled technology will make it possible for the car to deliver better fuel efficiency on two different fuels without compromising on performance. Cedia Select incorporates ‘Sequent’ type technology for effective performance on LPG. This technology, sourced from BRC Italy, uses a 32-bit microprocessor that syncs real time with the engine ECU (electronic control unit). The controls are precise and automatic, delivering great performance, be it on petrol or on auto LPG, says HM. With a ‘full tank’ of 50 litres of petrol and 48-63 litres of auto LPG, the Cedia Select should be capable of covering well over 1,000 km at a stretch on the highway.

This factory-fitted Cedia variant, with all the premium features (air bags, ABS with EBD, MP3 CD player, wood and titanium finish, chrome door handles, windshield antennae, and alloy wheels) is priced at Rs 8.6 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

with 8.6 lakhs ex-showrrom price and all the goodies and with factory fitted LPG kit, this would be quite a good package, if only the HM-mitsubishi improve their A$$.

Lookin' good, Mitsu! Maybe the proactive boffin in HM who dreamt this up will also speed up the entry of the new Lancer/Evo X.

With this development, expect to see LPG tankers directly refuelling them rally cars at their respective garages. Just hope no rally cars collide with an oncoming LPG tanker then

Its LPG, not CNG. I have travelled in LPG fitted cars. If the kit is good, unless the owner tells that its LPG, the power is not noticeable. A good driver can mask this.

I don't think many even in this forum would put their money on Lancer. Even if everyone buys Lancer here, it would constitute a very small percentage of the number HM would like to sell.

Went to my local dealer today. He didn't know anything about the Cedia LPG except what was on the website. Didn't know prices or availability.

The Cedia comes with LPG. Guys the kit is the BRC sequential injection kit. Technically, it should perform exactly like petrol. It would be controlled by a 32bit ECU which interacts with the petrol ECU. Have seen this on a Lincoln on a recent visit to the US.
