From the description, it does not sound as though it is related to the ingenio. I've seen it severa times(at the mahindra plant too!!) and its more of an MUV kind of vehicle, If this is a tata vehicle, then it could be something based on the TL platform. we can speculate a lot here, cant we??

Why is only Tata and Mahindra being considered?

Why not any other manufacturer?.

And how sure can we say this vehicle is for India?

, tata get this thing rollin and launch this by year-end or in the begining of next year, with a good engine. You have a customer(kkr2k2) ready. The SWB version would be a killer, but i dont mind the same wheel-base as the older one.

The 2 door description makes me feel that its not for India. We have had a very few cars with 2 doors and the Sierra was one. Even the Zen Carbon and steel, I heard was an export reject. Correct me if wrong.

If the Tatas do bring in this 2-door SUV, I hope they brand it 'Sierra' as the brand has already made an impact in the market. In my college days, it was everyones dream to own a Sierra, and apart from the gypsy, I think this was the only vehicle that was a cult classic. Even now, it turns heads on the roads ! I'm also hoping they have a 4x4-only variant this time...that should have the competition licked (gypsy, invader ?) !!

Ok, I propose it is the new Maruti SUV. They took the Zen Carbon (or Steel) and put it on 19" wheels to get a sub 2 lakh SUV. They intend to do a Tata in the SUV space. How about that for a speculation guys?

Come on yaar... no photos, no proper description or even sighting (sajo did not even see the registration plates, leave everything else aside) and here we are speculating. And moreover no news of any impending SUV from any manufacturer to attribute this one to. Let at least someone come up with a photograph first, even of the covered vehicle, and then we can do all the speculation.

I read somewhere that TATA is coming out with a SUMO/VICTA replacement near Diwali and i had seen a heavy camoed pic in Overdrive (June Issue) and it had a very squarish stance. Maybe this was what you saw IMHO.

If it is true, then its not the Sierra replacement. More like its grandson. Should be goood for the consumers though, irrespective of which make it is

Will it not be great if Tata creates a Tucson clone, calls it the new Sierra (may be Sierra V2) and prices it below Rs. 8 lacs!

I want it!!!

The road presence of a Sierra is not even matched by the Safari or a Scorpio IMHO. It would be great to get a sierra back. I will buy it!!!!!!, So will others I believe.

Maybe we should have a poll of how many people want the Sierra back and show that to Tata.
