fantastic car in the Palio and you guys need to market it well. So here is
one tip on marketing of the Palio.
AutoCar India in their July issue have done a 6 hatchback comparo between
the Palio NV,Corsa Sail,Tata Indica, Maruti Wagon R & Hyundai Santro and
Maruti Zen. They have picked the Palio as the best hatchback in India.
Please bring out full page advertisements in the papers highlighting this
article and AutoCar's decision. You can pick paragraph's from the article to
show the PAlio's superiority over other cars.
Hope you will acknowledge and respond.
Thanks
Amit Raisinghani.
A Fiat Palio owner.
A few days later the response came as follows:

Are you sure you guys arent related and hence the reply? lol (Raisinghani/Jaisinghani)

Well thats good to see.. a real reply rather than "We will look into it, thank you."

I seem to remember fiat handing out "reprints" of an earlier autocar test as part of the literature with the palio when it was first launched.... am i right?

Also, i was speaking to a fiat salesperson yesterday and telling them about how noone even knows the Petra exists... and he said that they were waiting for the Petra deisel to be launched before they started advertising...... donno how much sense that makes///but just fyi.

Great to see that Fiat finally is taking initiatives to up their brand image and improve the sales of a wonderful car....in the form of Palio. Petra isn't that bad either.

hey Khadu I sent the email to the marketing guys at anil.dhupkar@fiat-india.com but the reply came to me via sandeep jaisinghani at sandeep.jaisinghani@fiat-india.com. He incidentally is head corporate sales! I dunno how this happened! maybe the marketing team forwarded my email to him and he responded - doesn't make sense to me cuz it should have come from the marketing team itself.
Anywaz, u can look up www.fiat-india.com at go to helpdesk for a complete list of ppl to contact.

Hey Amit, wanna know how fast the Fiat marketing team is working...turn on your TV.

Yup, I saw the ad showing the Palio as the winner of the Autocar test. Only, trust Fiat marketing to mess this up as well. the ad itself is a sleeper!! and the line simply read...."voted our choice by Autocar India". No explaining what it was for, no giving any indication of who the rivals were nothing. Infact I feel Autocar got more publicity outa this ad than Fiat will hope to get!!

And when the heck are they going to realise that the Petra is actually for sale!! No surprise that no one is aware.

www.fiat-india.com still does not have a mention of the Petra

There was an ad on the Petra Diesel in today's Chennai edition of *"The Hindu". The ad is in black and white, lacks punch and is even confusing to some extent . It is advertised as
"A pertrol car that runs on diesel".
Some how Fiat has already concluded that the Petra petrol is not worth advertising for.

And yeah , I missed telling about their blunder in the Ad :
The Ad *mentions www.fiat-india.com prominently. Readers who will naturally explore the website for more details on the Petra will realise they wasted their time surfing this site

Guys, Sandeep Jaisinghani does respond to the mails sent to Fiat mktng team...Infact I had been interacting thru emails with them...Sandeep / Mahesh Prasad etc.
Infact I spoke to them also couple of times and they helped me in getting thru a dealer in East(since the original dealer in Kolkata had been chucked out by them).
ANd u know what, Mr.Jaisinghani & Mr.Prasad, did very nicely explain to me over the phone about their future plans regarding dealers & A.S.S, which I told them was the most negative aspect point blank .
And what they said, if is followed thru, then Fiat will be a winner in India!!
