GM to help Matiz owners...Article in AUTOCAR

Matiz owners can soon rejoice.

GM India is planning to offer spare parts and service for the defunct Daewoo Matiz through its Chevrolet dealer and service network within the next few months.
The Spark, which is essentially the latest-generation Matiz, has evoked a positive response from existing Matiz owners. GM India wants to cash in on this sentiment and plans to woo over 60,000 Matiz owners by giving them full-fledged service support, in the hope that they will eventually upgrade to a Chevy.
Ever since Daewoo closed down its Indian operations in 2002, Matiz owners have had to rely on the grey market and independent garages for spares and service. GM India can easily source spares and technical support from its Korean subsidiary GMDAT (formerly Daewoo) which still produces parts for the old Matiz. Besides, servicing Matiz cars will mean additional business for GM India dealers, which they would gladly welcome.
GM India is concerned about liability issues that could arise after taking on the service for the Matiz and is putting its paperwork and logistics in order before making any formal announcement.
