Nissan Magnite facelift could arrive by mid-2024; to be exported to LHD markets

Nissan is reportedly working on the Magnite facelift. The updated crossover is expected to be launched globally sometime around mid-2024.

While the exact details of the updated Magnite are not known, we can expect a few cosmetic changes both inside and out. The refreshed model will be built in right-hand drive and left-hand drive versions. The introduction of the LHD Magnite will allow the carmaker to tap into new markets in Africa, the Middle East, Latin America and Mexico.

Francois Bailly, Chief Planning Officer, Nissan Motor Corporation said. “The Magnite SUV has been very well received and it is being demanded in many markets around the world. The Magnite is a great success locally and in South Africa, and we have to grow the Magnite business in more export markets to ensure its competitiveness remains. Today, we just have the right-hand drive version, with the left-hand drive version many markets will open up, we will explore markets in Africa, the Middle East, LatAM, and Mexico, as we feel, we have a car that fits very well, for those markets.”

Nissan currently produces around 25,000 to 30,000 units of the Magnite every year. Production could be ramped up to 40,000 to 50,000 units per annum with the introduction of the LHD variant.

It needs more features for sure. a facelift will keep footfalls coming into the showroom but 2025 is too late.

It will be 3.5 years by the time the facelift arrives, but better late than never, for a brand that is hanging by a thread in India, with just one product, Nissan needs to hit it out of the park with the facelift, a couple of good new launches will help too, I hope they launch the earlier showcased Qashqai and Juke soon as well.

Well, if it will be exported as LHD, one thing we can be quite certain of is that it will be engineered to fit six airbags. That's because Nissan have made a commitment to offer them as standard across all their Latin American offerings (and it will also help them with Bharat NCAP).

Re: Nissan Magnite facelift could arrive by mid-2024; to be exported to LHD markets

I hope they fix some of the niggles like
1. Brake noise
2. Suspension noise
3. Better IVRM
4. Softer and more comfortable suspension
5. More space in the driver footwell towards the left side and a better positioned dead pedal
6. Better battery and auto folding mirrors.
7. Rattling dashboard (I didn't face it but many have complained)

I think, these probably wouldn't cost much

And if possible, they should also look into
1. 6 airbags
2. Optional Sunroof (I personally hate it, but Indian customers are stupid and so the brand should pander to them)
3. Better plastics on the interior trims

These might be costly upgrades for Nissan.

Other than these changes, I wouldn't want Nissan to change the design because the current design is fantastic! The ergonomics are perfect (even better than Suzuki which I thought was not possible).

Magnite Facelift Spied!

Latest test mule was spotted in Chennai and posted by Weguide.auto. Despite being fully draped in camouflage, overall silhouette of Magnite is unmistakable. Especially with the Lamborghini Aventador like integrated roof spoiler and the strong C-pillar shape evident in profile.

There are not a lot of changes visible from these spy shots. For starters, there is a new design for alloy wheels. These are highly likely to be 16-inchers and shod with the same 195-section tyres.

Other changes we could spot are new tail lights. These might very well be LEDs this time around. Shark-fin antenna is another welcome change when opposed to current model. Interiors are not visible in these images. However, we can see a white dashboard, hinting that this is not the top-spec variant.
We hope Nissan gives auto-dimming IRVM, ventilated seats, cornering light function, a few soft-touch plastics and improve fit and finish on the inside.
Despite being redundant for Indian market, there could be a single-pane sunroof too.

Powertrain-wise, we don’t expect any changes. So, the same 1.0L 3-cylinder engine will continue duties. This engine will be offered in naturally aspirated (71 bhp, 96 Nm, 5MT, 5AMT) and turbocharged guise (99 bhp, 160 Nm, 5MT, CVT).

Magnite offers one of the cleanest design in the sub-4mtr SUV space, just wish if they could improve the aspirational value by incorporating some 'premium' interior and features. I am looking forward to it.

Agreed but Nissan brand has lost its value here in India. Just put Suzuki logo on it and it will sell like 10-12 K minimum per month. Unfortunately lots of people like Magnite but don't consider it due to Nissan's shaky or unknown future here. Good car not selling because of brand here for sure.

This version should not be like the current one, which is built-to-cost.
Substandard/cheap material should be replaced with standard/quality ones.
They can increase the price, add few more variants to offer more and more features, but make it to age well.

I think we can already see the auto-dimming IRVM that was introduced in the Kiger this January. I'm guessing they'll just add a few more airbags, rear seat belt sensors and that auto-dimming IRVM along with the LED rear lights. I don't think there's going to be any changes done to the chassis or powertrain. It makes little sense for them to re-engineer all that.

Scoop! Nissan Magnite Facelift to get new dashboard, sunroof, 6 airbags & more

The Nissan Magnite is all set to receive a major update. Last month, the facelift version was spotted testing in Chennai for the first time. We can now reveal more information about the upcoming compact SUV.

Nissan Magnite facelift could arrive by mid-2024; to be exported to LHD markets-2.jpg

The Nissan Magnite facelift will feature a refreshed exterior design aligned with other SUVs from Nissan’s global lineup. The changes, though, will be limited to soft parts only.

The Magnite will also receive a few updates on the interior. We’ve been told it will get a redesigned dashboard and offer additional features such as a single-pane sunroof and 6 airbags.

The Magnite facelift is likely to be offered with the same set of engines as the current model. It includes a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder petrol and a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol unit. The naturally aspirated engine is available with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT, while the turbocharged engine gets a 5-speed manual and CVT option.

Re: Nissan Magnite facelift could arrive by mid-2024; to be exported to LHD markets

I hope they're also fixing some of the issues with the current crop

1. Dead pedal position too close to driver.
2. ORVMs do not auto-fold.
3. Power windows don't work unless engine is on!
4. IRVM should be auto-dimming (like then new one in Kiger)
5. They should improve the graphics of the instrument cluster. It has the color scheme of a fisher-price product. They can just duplicate Kiger's infotainment screen.

Magnite & it's sibling Kiger are one of the safer options out there despite being built to a coat. They received a 4* rating in GNCAP

Thanks! The 6 airbag version would be worth having a look then. Should be safer than the base version tested.
