The Germans aren't great in C2 segment cars. Their DQ 200 DSGs have issues as evidenced in anecdotes, reason why their cars were recalled in China, but in India they didn't take care until the customers complained in herds.
Anyway, coming to your issue, it could be a QC gap that occurs in 1 out of 200 cars sold and unfortunately has happened with you. Had I been in your position, I would have sold it off ( I have done this before with my new car that I didn't like) despite depreciation hit and moved to a more reliable brand. If you want a sedan I suggest you to not look beyond Honda City eHV or Hyundai Verna SX Optional T-GDI DCT. Both are very reliable, much more than Germans in this segment and the Verna beats the Germans in power hands down.

For SUV in this segment, look for either Seltos GT/X line T-GDI DCT or Creta SX Optional DCT. Both are reliable machines and have far better service than BW AG group. I own a VW Tiguan and know the quality of their service which is a pain point for us till date.

Hi,

I am new in the forum. I would like to share my oil leakage experience on my Virtus GT

I faced a similar issue in VW Virtus GT+ after 600 kms and after a few days of Delivery (Delivery date was 1st Sep 2023 via Kun OMR, chennai). They briefed that it's a first ever case of oil leakage on any Virtus in the country. I couldn't find any such thread earlier or any such information on the internet.

@M-Roc faced the exact issue & the time taken to deliver my car was the same 21 days. Only good thing was that they gave me a loaner car : Taigun 1.0 TSI for my daily usage.

VW process was very similar to Skoda with lot of delays & lack of information on what was going on.

Diagnosis process :-

They sent videos to VW, after few days they changed the oil seal (outlet part, which they didn't have stock & had to place an order) & still faced oil leakage during their trial runs, they changed oil seal (inlet part, which they didn't have stock & ordered the same), they also changed engine belt as there were traces of oil there.

There were days of lack information or any clarification from VW or dealer. The entire process is very slow & frustrating for the owner. They don't update or even send a sms, we have to follow up daily. VW 2.0 is no difference when you face a issue : you are struck with dealer to resolve & it just took too long.

Call centre of VW is one of the worst, you reach a very junior person. I took the matter to Twitter & LinkedIn too, yet nothing happened, they took their sweet 21 days of time.

Post that horrible experience, my car has been going good. Touch wood.

I have driven my car for 3.5 months & clocked 8000 kms, I have taken the car to western Ghat roads and a 6 hour non stop run on a highway. I have also driven the car at a higher rpm on Sports mode over a 200 km stretch. Recently we went on a 11 hour journey in 33% high way traffic on a hot day. The car has done well under all conditions.

Please don't worry, don't overthink about storing extra oil can or being standard again. The car will do fine.

Wishing many happy miles with smiles !!

Even Honda is not an exception to quality issue. Our 6months old Honda Amaze with ~2800kms run has visible cracks in engine head. Service center acknowledge the same and they said they would work with Honda and get back to me (it is more than 2weeks, yet to hear back from them).

Even the products from most reliable/trusted companies can have issues some times, what matters is how does the company resolves the issue and assures the customer of continued support and honour the warranty matters
