If you look closely the Tata Indica seems to have taken a lot of attributes of the old Fiat punto ( no the Grande punto) .

AFAIK both the cars were developed in the same design studio based on the same attributes. I maybe wrong though.

I want to wait till the GP comes to India, till then i will hold on to my Fiat Palio 1.6 Sport. Sometimes i think my 1.6 sport is also too good to change, hope the GP is hotter !!!

I have driven the 1.6 only once. It is indeed a hot hatch.

Grande Punto spied

I saw these three Fiat Hatchbacks camoflaged with zebra stripes and the logos covered with masking tape, on the highway driving to mumbai last evening, just saw this thread and figured they were GP's

Nice catch. Looks like the GP project is going full steam ahead. Since you caught these cars on the expressway, can you tell us how well they were moving? The GP will also solve the problem of lack of headroom in the Linea.

I hope they launch it by March or so. Many businessmen prefer to buy cars before 31st March for depreciation. I hope diesel GP comes with good features and plush interiors and Linea's engine - I am sure Fiat will price it nicely.

Well they are rumourered to launch this by march. and its looks gorgeous. well i just hope they put in their 1.4 ltr turbo petrol engine into this . that will be one helluva hot hatch. finally a hot hatch after the palio 1.6 and unlike the torque steering getz diesel.

Do you all really see the similarity with the U-VA, somehow it doesnt come across to me. it does appear as a completely diff model. i feel the back of the U-VA is similar to the A-Star??

Nice pics. Whether it comes with 1.6 or the 1.9 Multijet power house one thing we can surely say is, GP has good road presence.

After seeing the above pics, and noticing a palio from sideways, I observed that there isnt much difference between both...

And on the other side, Finally we have a competitor for the swift vdi ,(75bhp) compared to Punto(90bhp if they use the same one in Linea)

Pune/mumbai Team-BHPians please try and click some pics of GP Interiors, even if it means hijacking the car... hold the driver at gun-point ... do something... just get some interior pics.

@ deutscheafrikar, Thanks for the great pictures!

I guess the GP is going to be the first hatch with a 5-Star Euro NCAP rating!
