It has been talked many times that GP will come with FGT and not VGT. If I'm not wrong Rajeev Kapoor has also mentioned that in his mail to one of BHPians. So is it like FIAT is building the suspence and will surprise everybody with VGT? (My mind says no, but heart says yes)

When you say same as Linea diesel, does it mean same as in 1.3L same or 1.3L VGT same?

One surprising thing is that the oil change is scheduled for 12 mnths or 30k kms.
Isn't Linea oil change scheduled at 15K kms? How will Fiat explain the huge difference between 2 cars powered by the same engines? Besides, I hope they know what they are doing. 30K oil change interval in Indian conditions is stretching things too far.

Looks wise i20 is apreciated more than the GP by most of the lookers.
Wheelocity was doing a comparo between i20 and Fabia yesterday and the i20 in white looked smashing! How I wish it came with a nice diesel engine at sane prices. The GP isn't out yet but right now I also feel that the i20 looks better then the Punto.

That's a good point xPK! I think we shouldn't have high hopes on VGT esp after Rajeev's mail.

I am not sure if Rajeev is a fan of "Art of War" though

In case of most of us here in TBHP? Every single pony that can be squeezed out. Highways+powerful diesels = fun and I have done upwards of 80 kms at full throttle on my baby.

The pricing would depend a lot on whether Fiat plans to continue with the Palio or not. The SDX MJD OTR Mumbai is around 5.45L. If Palio and Punto were to be sold side by side, the active (MJD) version would have to start where the SDX MJD is now so IMO Punto Dynamic (MJD) should be priced comfortably on par with Swift VDI (ABS)!

If 3rd June is the launch date, its hardly a week left.
But I don't see any teasers or any mention of punto anywhere on the Fiat India's website. On the contrary, the jazz which is speculated to be launched on 10th already has a teaser website. Quite surprising.

That is Way-Of-Working for FIAT. They will give a big-one page advertisement next day the car released

Yes. If you see the Reason for Sale row, it is either upgrade or waiting for Grande Punto

I know atleast 3 of my friends who are waiting for the upgrade and dreaming of discounts

Fiat should have started a preview ad campaign for the GP if the launch is indeed in the first half of June. A preview website should have been up and running at least if they can't afford a TV campaign.

VGT please

Did any one noticed that FIAT has played smart here by putting Linea’s dashboard in Indian punto. I like punto’s original dash.

I am happy with the features though

including the beige colour?

A month ago when I was traveling to Pune, I overtook a Punto which had black/greyish coloured outlay.

Could be variants?
