That is one smart-looking MS there. Really like the front and rear of the car.

the new Dzire is more frugal than the outgoing model (22.41kpl for the MT and 22.61kpl for the AMT) and will be more efficient than its rivals in the segment. The Honda Amaze is rated at 18.3-18.6kpl, while the Hyundai Aura has a 17kpl rating.

Not the colour, I meant the design of the middle panels.

At a glance, it has the same screen, AC vents, AC controls, glovebox lid, overall dashboard shape. They just needed to give it dual tone or lighter colour to differentiate it from the Swift, since the hardpoints are the same.

But they went ahead and changed two panel pieces that no one would ever notice unless they compare it side by side in pictures, like done above.

Similar case with their previous generation. The Dzire at first glance seemed to only have black replaced with beige and brushed silver with faux wood. But on closer inspection the global shape of the centre air vents was also different.

The car does look better in this iteration. Going by past numbers should be a steady seller.

The headlights look great! Reminds me of the 5th gen Honda City.

Random Observation: The Dzire gets a silver bezel for the speedometer dial as well, whereas the Swift gets it only for the tachometer dial, weird.

The rear with a spoiler looks eerily like the current Honda City.

Is that long stalk on the dash a trip meter reset? Wow, didn't know that still existed in automotive world!

While the car looks good, am hoping it is built to last. My dad's Dzire (whale model) is rock solid even after 14yrs but lately Maruti cars haven't been aging well. My BIL had a Swift in the family and each trip, it had a new rattle.

The area of change is exactly as in Baleno. maybe dimensions were the reason?

Usually, I'm not too fond of the MSIL design (no offence), but this is one of the best front looks from Maruti's stable. If you mask the logo, it is difficult to identify it as SUZUKI. The side and rear are typical Dzire. The rear looks good though. The Interior is much like a Swift with some premium touches. 163mm ground clearance. That is less than Verna's.

I am sure they will have one model for taxis.

MSIL, please create a separate brand for taxis and change people's perception of Dzire as a taxi vehicle.

re: 2024 Maruti Suzuki Dzire spied on test. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 6.79 lakhs

The styling of the new Dzire is quite nice this time around.

I like the "Audi-esque" treatment of the front headlights and the subtly "muscled-out" front fenders.

The profile view is also not bad with taut skinning and a prominent crease line running the length of the car.

If there is an area of improvement, it will have to be the rear, which looks a little timid, especially if one compares it to the strong front end styling.
The culprit at the rear are the small tail-light clusters which does not give the rear end the "visual mass" it requires to balance the edges of the bodyshell. Had the tail-lights been made into two sections and "pulled into" the boot lid, then you would have had a nice, chunky feature spanning across the rear end. Maybe Maruti has kept that for the facelift version!

Maruti should also provide body coloured mud-flaps as standard fitment. In the lower variants, with skinny tyres, when viewed from the rear, the back end looks very unappealing: as if the car is standing on lollipop sticks!

The interior is also not bad. Yes, the light coloured fabric will be difficult to maintain but bear in mind that 95% of new car buyers opt for dealer-fitted or after market seat covers, which would negate the issue of the standard light coloured upholstery getting soiled.

I really like the presence of large analogue dials finding its place in the instrument cluster. Dials are so, so easy to read on the go compared to a digital readout. The Dzire dials also look to have been placed quite flat & upright: possibly a nod to BMW(?) , and will help in a reflecton free readout. The presence of physical buttons for HVAC controls are also welcome from a usability and safety perspective.

It seems Suzuki after a long time has made a strong statement with respect to styling and design. The last time it went really bold was in 2005 when they launched the 1st generation Swift.

The competition in the automotive world is fierce. Technological convergence between competitior manufacturers can easily be achieved. Features present amongst one manufacturer's model can be copied by another. Pricing parity can be brought in by fierce discounting or "special offers".
But styling & aesthetics are very individual to each manufacturer. It can make or break a product. And the better the styling, the greater are the chances for the manufacturer to see retail success. At long last Maruti seems to have realised it. Let's hope more good products follow.

re: 2024 Maruti Suzuki Dzire spied on test. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 6.79 lakhs

I never imagined that I would use "Swift Dzire" and "beautiful" in the same sentence.

Dzire looks beautiful, perhaps the best in its segment. With almost 25 kmpl claimed FE, it will rule the charts like never before.

Suzuki, why have you forgotten the Ciaz? A full facelift is long overdue.

I'm really impressed with this iteration of the Dzire. Maruti has truly nailed the sub-four-meter sedan proportions this time—it's the best version yet, in my opinion. It makes me also wonder, though, why they haven't given the Ciaz a similar update.
