re: 2024 Maruti Suzuki Dzire spied on test. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 6.79 lakhs

Based on the confidence of the Suzuki guys I talked to, I had expected a 4 star but not 5 star.

As far as truce is concerned, it's only in July that the Ertiga got a 1 star in a GNCAP test outside India. So, looks fair and square. The voluntary bit is due to presence of BNCAP in India. GNCAP will not do any more pick and test kind of thing.

Wonderful news, DZire gets a perfect 5 with 'Stable Bodyshell' .

This is the start everyone was looking from Maruti, now we can hope the next gen of their cars to be following the same level of safety. Kudos to Maruti, job well done .

They might've went for Global NCAP because they know that Indian public does not trust Bharat NCAP. And every enemy becomes a friend once you need them. So yeah probably that happened.

Maruti Suzuki Dzire achieves, 5-Star rating in Global NCAP.

Seems like they've finally buckled under the pressure from customers(pun intended) and produced a 5-Star rated car.

Looks like they poured in everything they had and then some into designing this car.

Great news from Maruti for its buyers.

New Dzire scores 5 start safety ratings in GlobalNCAP. This is great start and move in right direction for Maruti. Others need to worrya lot now

Feels like the giant is waking up from the slumber. eVX unveiling(soon to be followed by eWX), news about Wagon-R strong hybrid and now voluntary GNCAP 5-star for a heartect car. God bless Indian, Korean & Chinese-ev competition.

I'm actually surprised, a decent engine (for city usage), good looks, good interior, AND 5 star safety rated, dare I say suzuki is improving?

re: 2024 Maruti Suzuki Dzire spied on test. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 6.79 lakhs

I feel the tradeoff with respect to the engine is worth it in the new Dzire. Almost all competitors offer a 3pot engine in this segment and it is bound to happen. But for any common man this 3cyl vs 4 cyl was never a deal breaker but having the safest car moniker will surely set sales charts on fire. Especially in a dying sedan segment and lets hope this helps revive the segment as Sedans deserve all the love they can get. It is not fair to the segment that our infra is such that favours raised hatchbacks and pseudo suvs.

They have tested base model source:ackodrive

Base model features are like
* Projector headlamps instead of led.
* no steering wheel controls
* no turn indicators on review mirror
* auto A/C just like its sibling Baleno

The new Dzire is now set for a blockbuster debut. The safety concerns are also taken care of with 5-star GNCAP rating. Knowing MS, they will price it well.
I believe compact sedan segment will now see a resurgence.

In the above Acko Drive video, it shows GNCAP originally picked the last gen Dizre to test, which only scored 2 stars. After that GNCAP contacted MS (like they usually do with low scoring cars) and offered to test an improved version. That's when MS said they have the next gen Dzire which they would like to test, and hence the test of the new car happened.

Social media is already on fire and another manufacturer's fans are not able to believe this. They are saying it's a non-India spec version and what not!

Anyway, I'm glad it was GNCAP and not BNCAP, because that's very very important for the brand image. And since MS themselves showed crashtest videos of both Fronx and Brezza, I have no doubt that those will score no less than 4 stars.

Only the Virtus sales numbers are some saving grace, but when you look at the sub 4 meter SUVs sales numbers, you will realize that B segment sedans have a very rough road ahead in India.
VW did some good product planning before launching the Virtus. It has a premium look and appeal, drives well, has good engine-gearbox options and not to miss the ground clearance of the car which lands it very close to an SUV's turf. Price is higher than others but thats a premium which discerning buyers are ready to pay for a fun and practical car.

We got a 5-star Maruti before GTA 6! Jokes aside, crazy times indeed. To add to the craziness, Pakistan just defeated Australia in the 2nd ODI—on Australian turf, no less.

re: 2024 Maruti Suzuki Dzire spied on test. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 6.79 lakhs

5 star from GNCAP is a killer blow to all the critics of Maruti. TBH, it never impacted Maruti's sales and it was only a point to bash MS for people who anyways wanted to buy something else, but now MS has taken away the 1 point its critics had against it.

This is just brilliant marketing from Maruti. Hats off
Would be interesting to see what would be the real world mileage now, their claimed FE is 24-25, I am expecting it to be around 20 still.

Also this proves, market pressure and all the trolling works towards product improvement with a genuinely sincere brand.
