re: 2024 Maruti Suzuki Dzire spied on test. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 6.79 lakhs

Hi, a very good news from Maruti. Dzire is a fantastic product in terms of space, driving and fuel efficiency point of view and 5 star GNCAP safety rating will make it more desirable.

The impact of 5 star safety rated Maruti will be huge to Tata, Hyundai & Honda. May be a 5 star GNCAP rated Baleno, Swift and Fronx with updated and dual tone (Beige & Black) Vitara Brezza will bring Tata to where they were 7-8 years ago and make Hyundai No. 3 in sales chart and Honda to less than 3000 units a month in total sales.

Now I feel that the critics shouldn't have bothered.
See the critics were borderline trolling, and if you would have read the full post, you would have read me mentioning, trolling and pressure works towards product improvement with a sincere brand like it has in this case. Regarding charity, nobody is doing charity, everyone does business and that is a good thing.

P.S. Cannot say the same trolling has worked on Tata yet with their product quality and after sales service. Am still hoping they do improve and I would be happy to take the blame

Kudos to Maruti for making a car safe with a new-gen Dzire.

But why must it affect other OEMs like Tata and Mahindra? Almost all cars by these OEMs are 5* rated. Maruti is just now coming to the same level of safety.

I hope other OEMs improve their cons like Tata's service and Hyundai's safety. It will be good for consumers.

I liked everything about this car sans interior color scheme. Black or Wine color would have been ideal for me. Waiting for Frox/Taisor crash results.

Hi, what I mean was that Maruti has the advantage of reliable and fuel efficient cars and their reach is almost entire India. Once they get the advantage of 5 star rated cars, many people who avoid Maruti for not being safe, will buy Maruti for their reliability and fuel efficiency. This will probably result in taking good share from Tata, Hyundai & Honda. Mahindra is safe as they are banking of SUV where Maruti's presence is negligible now & in near future.

Maruti still has many missing pieces. No Diesel, No EVs (yet to launch so not counting the EVx yet), and CNG cars missing on the boot, not a great seller in the above 20lk segment, where most Indian buyers have aspirations.

Safety was one thing, which looks like will be resolved with Next Gen.

Hi, you are correct regarding no diesel & EV, but I think the diesel sales numbers are very low in sub 15 lacs segment and currently best EV is selling equivalent to Ignis monthly sales, so no major impact to Maruti for not having EV as of now.

Maruti should learn to adopt twin CNG cylinder technology because CNG vehicle sale in increasing where Maruti is still the segment leader in sales number.

While both statements are true, if I understand correctly, that 5-star GNCAP rating is not applicable to those 27 lakh units they've already sold.

The top model AMT crosses the 10L bar.

AMT available at an extra 45k, CNG at an extra 95k, similar to the outgoing model.

Also available at a subscription starting 18k per month.

*Introductory prices till the end of the year, just like what every other manufacturer is "saying".

It surprises me at times how manufacturers price cars just 10-20k above 10L without taking into account car sales/revenues/price sensitivity charts.

Multiple states in India charge higher road taxes above 10L. This leads to flat 30-40k increase in road tax and 60k increase in OTR prices. If they priced ZXI+ AMT at 9.99L, the OTR price in Karnataka would have been approx. 50K less for consumer while Maruti would have lost approx. 10K (as GST portion of ex-showroom is for govt.) per sale of ZXI+ AMT variant. The loss in direct revenue could have easily been recovered with incremental sales resulting from 50K reduction in customer price.

If only they were smart about such nuances.

This is good pricing considering the improved aesthetics, features and safety.

Many Baleno, Fronx buyers may consider Dzire now considering the freshness and declared safety factors.

re: 2024 Maruti Suzuki Dzire spied on test. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 6.79 lakhs

Dzire is the fourth best selling car of all time in India.

What are the other three?

Maruti 800, Maruti Alto and Maruti Swift for sure, I guess
