The new design head lights look exactly like the XL6 one. And the front end is more a Toyota than Maruti, for obvious reasons.

The tail lamps are much better designed over the 2024 Swift. Must say the Dzire is much more Dzirable (as someone else commented).

re: 2024 Maruti Suzuki Dzire spied on test. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 6.79 lakhs

10,627 of Dzire were sold in August 2024 and also TOI has removed the article with the red colour car image. I will be surprised if it would be delivered this festive season which is very close. I am sure some of the owners who took delivery in August would have waited for the new model if not in need of a car urgently.

re: 2024 Maruti Suzuki Dzire spied on test. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 6.79 lakhs

Dzire is all set to be launched in this festive season. I will not be surprised if the so called scoop was released by Suzuki marketing team as a conversation starter / buzz creater / teaser.

The Dzire will surely have the Z12 engine along with trusted AMT. There is no reason for it to have any different set up. Eventually Swift / Dzire / Baleno /Fronx all are scheduled to switchover to the Z12+AMT set up. An exception is only likely to happen with the 1.0L Turbo or the Series Hybrids set up which will likely have an electronic CVT set up similar to Grand Vitara.

The drop in Sales of Dzire is likely to be more next month as Suzuki prepares it's facilities for mass production followed by ramp up in volumes.

If it was, then there's no reason for TOI to delete the article so quickly.

ACI's article says " New Maruti Dzire to launch after Diwali"(late Oct), CNG variant to debut later.

Though the scoop pic (photo shoot) is removed from many journals (at the insistence of Maruti?), the narrative is the same.

The launch might well be around Diwali but Suzuki will definitely unveil it before hand to generate booking momentum prior to price reveal.

The scoop thing was an educated guess as most revealing Suzuki scoops generally occur a month or so prior to launch .

Without the logo, I would have guessed it to be a Honda amaze facelift.

It looks nothing like the new swift. Wonder if it is still based on it.

Not necessarily. There are people like me who will prefer a safer sedan with 4 star safety rating (Amaze, Tigor), better quality products (Amaze, Aura), better service (Aura) and a proper automatic (Amaze).

Not denying the fact that the new Dzire looks lovely in that AUDI-esque grill and Toyota-esque headlights and is featured loaded.

On a lighter note, this is what I imagine would have been the conversation between Maruti Suzuki top management and the design team:

Management: Copy the Amaze, but don't get any copyright strikes.

Design Team: Hold my coffee!

re: 2024 Maruti Suzuki Dzire spied on test. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 6.79 lakhs

I think I'm going to repeat what I said during the launch of the previous gen Dzire. The Dzire is becoming more "Dzirable" with each generation. Though this really looks like a Toyota, I like that Dzire is now becoming a genuinely different looking car from the Original idea of a Swift with a boot welded on. Like the last gen Dzire, it looks long, low and sleek.

I wish they had gone for a fastback design with a rear hatch instead of a boot. But I guess that would have affected the pricing. I think that the Basalt with its sedan looks, practical boot, interior space and affordable lower variants could be a competitor to the Dzire as well.

The alloy pattern looks like twin Swastikas. the front grille looks like it could be from a Lexus, or an Innova Crysta. I like that they have given round fog lamps, which means that buyers can upgrade to a more powerful and functional options in aftermarket. The thin headlights look great, but it also means that the lower variants would have worse lighting if they have halogens, as the reflector sizes would be small. Hope they have halogen projectors for the lower variants, or retain the LEDs.

I'm sure this one will sell by the lakhs or millions.

re: 2024 Maruti Suzuki Dzire spied on test. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 6.79 lakhs

The only 2 cars that matter in this segment are Amaze and Dzire. Now they seem to look alike also !
Dzire will enjoy over Amaze owing to service outlets and being a Maruti.

The wiper blades are "syndicate". Arm and blades are so Maruti.

Just compare the bonnet shut lines in this image to the existing Dzire, then the 2024 Swift.

Not sure why Maruti has chosen not to come up with an 'all-new' Dzire.

Interesting that you mention it looks more like a Toyota, do you think Suzuki is now designing their cars keeping in mind that they would be co-opted and rebadged by the Toyota stable? Maybe the Toyota team is getting more of a say?

My first impression was that of an Amaze. Nonetheless, it is an exciting development and a welcome design evolution
