2024 Maruti Suzuki Dzire spied on test

New gen Maruti Dzire will be launched after the Swift, which is expected in April.

Quote:
Design Evolution: Swift’s Influence on the Dzire The lower bumper of the Dzire exhibits aggressive cuts and creases, contributing to its overall sporty appeal. The 5-spoke alloy wheels, unique to the Dzire, set it apart from the Swift. While the front fascia closely resembles the Swift, the side profile reveals significant differences. The Dzire boasts new pillars, front and rear doors, and windows. A chrome lining along the window line adds a touch of sophistication, enhancing the overall aesthetics
On the side profile the camera module on the ORVM means it will definitely get the 360-degree parking camera feature.

Quote:
Powerful and Efficient Performer: Shared Powertrain with the Swift Under the hood, the new Maruti Dzire will share its powertrain with the Swift. The 1.2L 3-cylinder Z-series naturally aspirated petrol engine, capable of producing 82 bhp of peak power and 108 Nm of peak torque, promises a balance between performance and fuel efficiency. Despite a decrease in performance metrics compared to the current K-Series 4-cylinder engine, the new engine boasts an impressive fuel efficiency of up to 24.5 km/l.

If the attached extrapolation is close to accurate, the rear window profile looks inspired by the Tigor
But as far as flatness of the rear is concerned, I think this one might just take the top spot from the Honda Amaze.

The Dzire was never a stunner (or meant to be one) but I'm a little more optimistic about this one.

Look forward to seeing it with the camo off. Maybe it will look different then.

Re: 2024 Maruti Suzuki Dzire spied on test

I know it's too early to comment now, but the rear gives me BMW M2 vibes. This is probably the first spy shot of the Dzire in India, yet I can vouch for the fact that this will be a hot seller. Pretty obvious, considering the sales figures of the current version. Would it be fair to expect a decent BNCAP rating Maruti?

More than BNCAP I do hope they work on its rear seat safety considering its popularity as a taxi. First of all the previous generation did not have three-point seatbelts for all seats (which the 2024 Aura and Tigor get).

Also, the rear seatbelt reminders for later versions of the previous-gen Dzire were quite thoughtlessly designed and encouraged people to sit over parked belts. I do hope Maruti fits occupant detection to the Dzire (or at least does the normal thing: engage the lamp but not the beep). It cannot be too expensive to engineer or produce and certainly would improve the safety of India's fleets (of which Dzires make a huge chunk).

The rear profile has Honda City 3rd Gen vibes. Anyone else get that?

Re: 2024 Maruti Suzuki Dzire spied on test

I like the proportions of this car. If Maruti gives this car a smooth CVT instead of the AMT(very highly unlikely anyway), I will regret my Amaze purchase very badly. Safety ratings aside, there are some areas where Dzire scores higher than the Amaze.

I am looking forward for this launch. I really miss sedans, and any sedan launch for me brings a lot of happiness.

Any plans for the 1.0 turbo now they have localised it? Or will it be fronx exclusive for some more time?

The 1.0L turbo is not fully localised. Chances of this engine coming to Dzire are almost nill. The 1.0L turbo would next possibly come in Brezza. Nowhere else do I see a use case.

Re: 2024 Maruti Suzuki Dzire spied on test

My expectation from the new DZire (and also the new Swift), is that first and foremost they do a complete overhaul of the safety structure and not just Active safety features but also passive safety. Anything below 4 stars on BNCAP will not be acceptable.

From the DZire I am also looking for some value addition over the Swift, like more legroom and kneeroom, more headroom at the back, and innovation in CNG cylinder a.la TATA (twin cylinder) so that Delhi NCR folks can have usable bootspace in the Uber/Ola with the new Dzire.

The fact that I am hating in Maruti's facelifts is they are having similar dashboard for all of their models. Brezza, Grand Vitara, Fronx, Baleno, Swift (spy shots) and now Dzire (spy shots).

Maruti is just going crazy with parts sharing if it wasn't already!
I mean a car needs to have it's own identity. Sharing keyfob is one thing but sharing the entire dash layout switches, identical steering just makes it so boring.

Next-gen Maruti Dzire spied with a sunroof

The 2024 Maruti Suzuki Dzire has been spotted testing once again. This time, the compact sedan was seen in Himachal Pradesh while undergoing cold weather testing.

The upcoming Dzire will share its underpinnings with the next-gen Swift. While the overall shape of the car looks quite similar to the current model, it will get a reprofiled front grille and sweptback headlamps. It has a coupe-like roof line and a short rear section.

Interestingly, the test mule seen in these images is equipped with a sunroof, which suggests that Maruti might offer a single-pane sunroof on the new model. The Dzire is also expected to get features such as a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, keyless entry, and cruise control.

The new Dzire will be powered by Maruti Suzuki's new Z-series 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine that produces 82 BHP and 108 Nm. The same unit will be available in the new-gen Swift as well.

Re: 2024 Maruti Suzuki Dzire spied on test

The most important update any Maruti needs is a bump up in safety and structural strength. Now that a sunroof has been added, I hope it does not reduce the roof and overall strength any further.

There's also a camera jutting out of the ORVM, indicating the addition of a 360-degree camera system.

I hope they plonk in the Aisin 6AT in the Dzire. I like what I am seeing so far, except for the boot area, which they still haven't been able to master.

As others have mentioned, the rear end looks very similar to the older gen city and the current BMW M2.
