Yeah, according to patterns and trends, it should launch by 2026 but I've heard that they're making a completely new platform for it and that platform itself will be brought to India by 2027. I really hope this isn't true being a loyal Honda customer for years.

GC apparently is around 175 mm as I understand from a sales guy in a dealership.

Looks promising but Sunroof is a big miss.

Steering wheel is also from the City. The instrument cluster is probably direct lift from the Elevate since top speed marked is 180. There is no difference in design of instrument cluster of the City & Elevate apart from the marking extending to 220 KMPH in the City. Lots of switches/ door consoles and tid bits here and there are from the City.

Car looks good overall and can compete against the D'zire. Honda's mix and match has resulted in a good product without much effort but only time will tell if this can keep Honda's boat afloat in the Indian market.

The rear profile is almost same as Honda City. I guess most people will now mistake City for Amaze. I feel bad for Honda City owners.

The side profile is very similar to the existing Amaze.

The front grille looks too big for sub 4m sedan to me. Looks like someone in Honda India design team used Chat GPT and provided references to Honda City, Elevate and Amaze to create a new sub 4m sedan.

re: Next-gen Honda Amaze launched at Rs 7.99 lakhs (ex-showroom)

The story so far of the updated Honda Amaze:

- In a segment where Maruti Suzuki Dzire leads the segment with a share of almost 61%.

- Honda has maintained its family design attributes in the new Amaze. The front is quite similar to what we have already seen on the Elevate with a big, bold grille, flanked by LED headlamps, which have integrated DRLs. There are LED fog lamps as well.

- Honda Amaze has design cues taken from Elevate, City and its existing model of Amaze.

- Rear has major similarities with the City, particularly the way LED taillamps have been designed. Then there are customary Honda, Amaze and i-VTEC badges.

- The car now drives on new alloys, which are again similar to what we have seen on other Honda models.

- No sunroof is available.

- Completely tweaked the interior of the 2024 Honda Amaze. There is a new multi-tone dashboard, which does look premium. And there is no dearth of features as well.

-The centre console of the car comprises of a new touchscreen infotainment system (possibly 8-inch). There is the customary automatic climate control. Also gets a wireless charger. Then, there are the regular cup holders.

-The 2024 Amaze's steering wheel is completely new and houses voice, audio, and ADAS controls. The instrument panel is a semi-digital unit.

-The 2024 Honda Amaze uses the same 1.2-litre 4-cylinder SOHC i-VTEC petrol engine from the old model. This engine produces 90PS of maximum power and 110Nm of peak torque. The transmission options include 5-speed MT and CVT automatic.

- Expect the new Honda Amaze price in India to be between Rs 7.25 lakh and Rs 10.50 lakh (ex-showroom).

re: Next-gen Honda Amaze launched at Rs 7.99 lakhs (ex-showroom)

Affordable sedans are alive and kicking!

This looks fantastic and well-proportioned. And one of few cars which looks good in all the colors that have appeared in leaked/spy images.

While the pictures can be a bit deceiving, I do hope that Honda hasn't cheaped out on the interior quality. This is their chance to premium-anize the segment and bring that Honda-feeling back in their cars.

If Honda gets the fundamentals right, there is a huge upside for them to take. And (a free advice for them) if they haven't yet thought, get a hatchback on the same body to compete with i20, Altroz, Baleno etc. There is a market still and another 2500-3500 vehicles per month will help distribute the development cost. And it will put another model in the showroom.

re: Next-gen Honda Amaze launched at Rs 7.99 lakhs (ex-showroom)

What a fall for Honda !

Never imagined that Honda would degrade themselves into making appliances.

As a long time fan of the brand, ive realised it's now time to move on.

Maruti has done a better job with the new Dzire than Honda's sad attempt at trying to give some of the City's long faded brand equity to the Amaze.

They are still flogging the same 1.2L engine which powers our Brio, which we picked up up in 2012 !

Two engine options, 1.2L and 1.5L would have injected some excitement than the yawn inducing 1.2L.

Pricing is likely to Hondaptimistic !
A brand which still thinks it's premium, when frankly even Maruti has better competing models.

So sales will taper to a sad 2000-2500 units (if they are lucky !) within 6-8 months of launch and just like the Elevate will get discounts.

Anyone looking for one, should plan to buy it next Diwali when it will have discounts for sure.

Looks alright. However, the Maruti Dzire wins hands down. By the way, is this a facelift or a completely new model from the ground up?

re: Next-gen Honda Amaze launched at Rs 7.99 lakhs (ex-showroom)

While Maruti Suzuki's Dzire is applauded for its looks, the Amaze has a neutral to confusing (SUV from front, City Sedan from rear and Compact sedan from the side) look!

However, the Amaze has some features that is missing / more value than in the Dzire. The only question is, can Amaze retain its numbers? It all depends on is pricing.

Honda Amaze 2024 gets these major things that Maruti Suzuki Dzire:

1. Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS)
2. Engine: 1.2-litre 4-cylinder SOHC i-VTEC petrol engine Vs Z12E 1.2-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine
3. 5-speed manual (MT) or a CVT automatic Vs 5-speed manual (MT) and a 5-speed automated manual transmission (AMT)

Honda should be applauded for maintaining 4 cylinder engine rather than downgrading to 3 cylinder in the name of fuel efficiency.
