re: Next-gen Honda Amaze launched at Rs 7.99 lakhs (ex-showroom)

I saw the new Amaze, which was probably being driven from the stockyard to the dealership at night. The car looked great in person. Looks can be subjective, but for me, it was more or less equal to the new Dzire in terms of looks. I saw the car in red, it looked really good.

I assume this will settle around 4-5k monthly units once the initial excitement dies down.

Was watching this Honda Amaze Launch

And its told that 3 new name plate (models) will be launched in next 3 years. That is a lot given Honda's reputation!

Honda amaze design = Put Elevate and City in the grinder, churn it and voila we have Amaze.

Front is Elevate, rear is City and interiors a mix. What’s new for customers? To keep cost down, they are not innovating but only reusing.

I do hope whatever strategy they adopt, it’s a make or break product for them considering Dzire got a great start and a big 5 ⭐️ surprise

Knowing Honda, I won't expect these to be anything but a SUV based on Amaze, a 7-seat Elevate, with the same 1.2L and 1.5L, and the electric Elevate with a different name!

Hope they provide anything noteworthy this time!

Yes, eventhough my heart carves for an all new vehicle, I don't expect Honda to spring any new surprises. It really hurts to see honda not putting any efforts to increase their market share.

Amaze prices start at 8L ex-showroom.

I seriously doubt the V variant will have many takers at compact SUV prices, but the ZX manual looks like pretty good value. Not having a base S variant at least for namesake is a marketing blunder and the same mistake they made with the Jazz.

re: Next-gen Honda Amaze launched at Rs 7.99 lakhs (ex-showroom)

Honda Amaze launched:
- Test Drive starts today
- Deliveries in Jan-25

- Are going to introduce three models in 2026-27
- Five new SUVs by the end of the decade, with India playing a pivotal role as an export hub.
- But from 2026-27, will be able to give good news regarding models and new powertrains. It is just about a matter of time.”

Honda claims a fuel efficiency of 18.65kpl for the manual variant, while the CVT automatic returns 19.46kpl.

New Honda Amaze interior and features
Quote:
On the inside, the dashboard design is clearly inspired by the Elevate. The large free-standing 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system (8-inch on lower trims), the HVAC controls, the semi-digital instrument cluster and the multi-function steering wheel are all borrowed from the Elevate. The centre console layout, too, with a wireless charging shelf, USB ports, and two cup holders, is identical to that of the Elevate. What’s unique here is a textured finish for the dashboard panel that also houses the AC vents. The dashboard gets a two-tone finish – a black and beige theme with some silver highlights.

In terms of equipment, the new Amaze gets LED projector headlamps and fog lamps, auto climate control, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charger, push button start/stop, three-point seat belts for all occupants, rear seat arm rest, rear AC vents, and connected car features. Safety features include six airbags as standard, lane watch camera, hill start assist, ESC and Honda sensing ADAS suite. Honda claims the Amaze is the most affordable car with an ADAS suite in India.

Honda says the new Amaze is wider and taller than its predecessor, and that has resulted in better cabin space. It has a boot space of 416-litres. Honda also claims they have significantly improved the AC performance for better cooling inside the cabin.

New Honda Amaze engine, specs

Quote:
Under the hood, the new Amaze continues with the familiar 1.2-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine that comes paired to either a 5-speed manual or a CVT automatic transmission with paddle shifters. The engine produces 90hp and 110Nm of torque, which makes it slightly more powerful than the Dzire, but torque is marginally down.

re: Next-gen Honda Amaze launched at Rs 7.99 lakhs (ex-showroom)

Looks like decent pricing for the Amaze !

VX CVT coming under 10L (ex showroom) will result in reduced taxes in BLR.

Difference between base and top trim MT & CVT is 1.2 lakhs. But for mid spec, the difference is only 90k. What could be the reason?

To come under 10 lakh ex-showroom, as a few states charge higher road tax if the ex-showroom price is above 10 lakhs. Great of Honda to pay heed to it.

re: Next-gen Honda Amaze launched at Rs 7.99 lakhs (ex-showroom)

An overall very nice product indeed and a genuine effort by Honda Cars India to regain their market share, Amaze is literally a mix of City and Elevate in terms of looks, features etc while retaining the powertrain options from the outgoing model. The fact that ADAS is offered on every Honda car now is definitely praiseworthy even though it's just camera based only. Still can't complain and genuinely delighted by the Amaze which I'm sure is going to surely bring much needed volumes to Honda. I hope their ASCs can cope up with the overwhelming demand.

The key advantage vis a vis to its arch rival new Dzire is the fact that Amaze gets a smoother, refined and powerful 4cylinder motor paired with a CVT as compared to the former which gets a 3cylinder with AMT and extra add on feature ADAS. I'm very confident that Amaze will definitely score a full 5stars at BNCAP/GNCAP considering Honda does take safety rather seriously.

Very happy with the introductory pricing too with top end ZX MT under 10L which saves a whole lot of money since many states increase taxes astronomically once the ex-showroom crosses 10L!

All the best to Honda and compact sedan shoppers since they're spoilt for choice now! Exciting times ahead!

re: Next-gen Honda Amaze launched at Rs 7.99 lakhs (ex-showroom)

Looks like Maruti has the public attention as of now - Rs. 6.79 lakh is being advertised for the DZire which means the Amaze at a 7.99L starting price is immediately at a marketing disadvantage.

Must be to keep the ex-showroom cost under 10 Lakhs, else there is extra tax on vehicles above 10 L
