The car is actually quite good looking and looks a lot more classy and simple compared to the new Dzire. Honda has finally got their act right in terms of packaging the car with all the latest features with ADAS being the icing on the cake. Hope this translates into many more cars on the road which will pave the way for the revival of the brand in India.

Re: Next-gen Honda Amaze launched at Rs 7.99 lakhs (ex-showroom)

Yesterday Sunday 8th December, I got the opportunity to see the New Honda Amaze at the Seawoods Grand Central Mall Nerul.

My observations (can be subjective)
1. Looking at the car, the front fascia looks impressive but a lot like the Honda elevate.
2. The rear looks a lot like the Honda city, the tail lights in particular.
3. From the side profile the car looks similar to the version of car it is replacing except for some creases here and there.
4. On opening the boot, spacious enough to take in a good amount of luggage, the loading height also quite comfortable not too high.
5. The spare wheel was non-alloy i.e. steel rim 14-inch. The vehicle is seen with diamond cut alloys rims and MRF tyres. Good to see broader tyre here, looks proportionate not underwhelming.
6. Interior is well sorted out comfortable but the car had fabric seats beige in color, would get soiled easily is what I see. The center arm rest is a sore miss but the space looks made for storage of a water bottle and also contains the rear AC vents with a charging port.
7. The dash looks contemporary with the fit and finish to my liking and an 8-inch display touch screen. Passenger comfort is also to my liking. The rear head rests, three in number, fixed (non-adjustable).
8. Boot lid had a cladding that is a good touch.
9. The best part is the 1.2 gem of an engine, the highlight of the car.
10. The engine has a protective cover below that is refreshing covering most of the engine bay with vents for air circulation.
11. What I appreciate here is the miss on the Sunroof, a very sensible delete done at least for this country.
12. The Addition of the lane watch assist camera on the left ORVM and ADAS.

The saddest part here.
1. The paint is missing on the inside of the engine bay and the inside of the bonnet also. Looks very ugly. I saw the metallic blue color car and here it doesn’t seem to be painted at all.
2. The gap on the sides and the front fender similar to the Elevate. On looking inside, I could see the plastic wheel arch cladding. Eyesore. not in good taste.
3. The first thing that stands out though in bad taste is the front Strut top mount tower area is unfinished and shows all the sealant white brush finish an eyesore to say the least.
4. Honda has given a miss to the Auto dimming Rear view mirror even on the top of the line version of the car.
5. The couple of snaps I didn’t get and captured from the videos above. (Didn’t expect this Honda).

If I was in the market and needed to purchase a car in the 10 to 13 lakh budget and a Sedan, yes, I would buy the Amaze for the HONDA fuss free ownership, the ride comfort, the space in the interior, the tried and tested 1.2 Litre, 4 cylinder, inline4 valve, 4 valve/cylinder, I-vtec Petrol engine that is carried over from the previous gen.

Re: Next-gen Honda Amaze launched at Rs 7.99 lakhs (ex-showroom)

With all the hype of it one uping the Dzire, this for me ended up highlighting the non committal approach of Honda towards India even more.
  • Not having a sunroof should not be a deal-breaker but the masses unfortunately do not think that way, they should have thought of offering it atleast on the top varient.
  • Adaptive cruise control as a feature should have been offered on the VX varient as well.
  • Not having ventilated seats in India is again a big miss, should have included them as standard.
  • I hear they haven't improved the NVH much so that is a bummer as well.

For someone who is looking to buy a car in the 12 to 15 lakhs segment, I like how the new Amaze looks, even a tad better than City in some aspects and am happy that Honda is showing initiative to up their game in the near future in India, but their current product line as a whole kind of somewhat falls short in that respect.

Re: Next-gen Honda Amaze launched at Rs 7.99 lakhs (ex-showroom)

Hi all !!

Has anyone experienced the new amaze 3G's suspension over bad roads ? How can it be compared with amaze 2G ? Since we owned a amaze 2G before, which was now sold, it's having severe suspension and NVH issues. Any inputs would be appreciated.

I came across a YouTube review saying that there were no guidelines on the reverse parking camera.

Can anyone confirm this?

My experience was very bad with Pride Honda, Both in terms of sales & after sales.

We bought 2 vehicles from this dealership - City 4th gen VXMT (2016) & Amaze 2nd gen VCVT (2019).

After Sales Issues:

Firstly, The management is not customer friendly, They'll simply inflate the bills a lot, once the standard warranty completes. And if there is any part that needs to be replaced under warranty they'll simply deny.

Secondly, The staff, from top-to-bottom, they're very rude, They don't respect customers. They'll just behave as if they're doing us a favor by offering their mediocre services.

Lastly, They'll never keep spares in stock and never deliver vehicle on time as promised.

Sales issues:

They're never transparent, Really never.

When we bought our Amaze, we asked for a latest batch vehicle, whereas they cheated and sold us a vehicle from old batch which was already billed to another customer. In addition to this, the vehicle was having severe issues since day 1.

Due to which we approached the consumer court, we won the case, but these guys went for an appeal in higher court, which is still running in court .

I would like to create a dedicated thread for this later. I'm sorry for making this slightly off-topic, Since you've taken this dealer name, I thought of sharing my pain.

Re: Next-gen Honda Amaze launched at Rs 7.99 lakhs (ex-showroom)

As the owner of a 2022 Honda Amaze CVT, I was invited to the launch event of the next-generation Honda Amaze. Unfortunately, due to personal commitments, I couldn’t attend. However, I visited the showroom (Heritage Honda, Agra) yesterday and was warmly greeted by the same sales executive (Mr Atul Sharma) who sold me my previous car. The showroom had a notable buzz, unlike usual days, with a lot of excitement around the new launch.

Here’s a quick comparison of the new Amaze with my second-generation model. The new Amaze is undoubtedly a head-turner. While some might criticize it for borrowing design cues—the front from the Elevate and the rear from the City—it looks well-proportioned overall. The earlier model looked sleeker, but this one feels bolder and larger, especially from the front. The rear design is appealing as well, although the side profile remains largely unchanged. The cleaner lines and muscular styling add to its visual appeal. It looks stunning in the new Obsidian Blue Pearl color.

Inside, the cabin feels minimalistic yet futuristic, with a host of premium features added. The new features (as mentioned earlier) are a big step forward and include:
1. Six airbags ( in all variants)
2. LaneWatch camera, (I personally feel this is much needed feature over the 360 camera)
3. Headlight integration with wipers
4. Middle rear seat headrest
5. Three-point seat belts for all passengers
6. Rear AC vents ( such a relief to finally have it)

Next-gen Honda Amaze launched at Rs 7.99 lakhs (ex-showroom)-img_9535.jpeg

7. Soft-close, foldable grab handles

Next-gen Honda Amaze launched at Rs 7.99 lakhs (ex-showroom)-img_9534.jpeg

8. Partially digital instrument cluster ( looks so classy)

Next-gen Honda Amaze launched at Rs 7.99 lakhs (ex-showroom)-img_9532.jpeg

9. Shift lever illumination (CVT) ( I miss this in my amaze)
10. Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay (was available as an accessory till last Gen)
11. Power window operation after key-off
12. Driver-side sun visor gets vanity mirror
13. Six speakers ( sound much better)
14. 8 inch floating infotainment system is much smoother
15. Electronic Stability Control (ESC) with traction control
16. Hill-start assist
17. Honda Sensing ADAS features ( prefer to have it over sunroof)
18. Soft-touch materials on the armrest

Next-gen Honda Amaze launched at Rs 7.99 lakhs (ex-showroom)-img_9533.jpeg

The VX CVT feels like exceptional value for money, especially with Honda keeping the price under ₹10 lakh. The tried-and-tested 1.2L four-cylinder engine, paired with the buttery-smooth CVT, is retained, delivering a familiar yet refined driving experience. Despite all the new features, the price increase is minimal, which is commendable.

That said, the new Amaze might impact Honda City sales, much like the Elevate did. The second-generation Amaze was already a no-nonsense, value-for-money offering, and with this upgrade, Honda has raised the bar.

I walked away thoroughly impressed with the new Amaze. While it may not dominate sales charts—thanks to the growing preference for pseudo-SUVs among single-car garage buyers—it remains an excellent second car. It’s safe, reliable, and delivers great value for money.

Re: Next-gen Honda Amaze launched at Rs 7.99 lakhs (ex-showroom)

New Honda Amaze to get dealer-level CNG option.

Honda dealers will offer CNG conversion for the Amaze at an RTO approved facility.

Quote:
CNG conversion available only on the Amaze MT for private buyers
Conversions will be carried out at RTO approved centers
Deliveries likely to start by December end
Although the CNG conversoin is not done at the factory, the vehicle gets all manufacturer warranties. The cost of the conversion is around Rs 1 lakh, but the final amount differs based on state-wise taxations. To avail the factory warranty, buyers will have to sign additional documents at the dealer once the conversion is done. Once all the formalities are completed, the dealer will send the vehicle to the RTO again, and the fuel type will be changed to petrol-CNG.

Re: Next-gen Honda Amaze launched at Rs 7.99 lakhs (ex-showroom)

Overall good car by Honda, looks better than current car. Side profile is sadly same and sore point for me, it's little awkward design as a sedan. Looking at this and new Dzire, they have packaged both cars very well and kudos to both Honda and Maruti for the same. Both are very attractively priced for what they offer. When you compare their prices with other cars, I am sure companies are charging more, specially for SUV kind of models. Top end models are quite expensive for small SUV's like Sonet, Nexon, Venue, etc. They are charging more for what they offer. Hope Honda will get some success with this to survive here in India.

Thanks for this. I rarely go beyond the Eco . I always try and stay within it. But no matter what I do, i get 8.5 km/l :(

I will seriously consider getting the Amaze. Looks like a car well put together

I took a test drive of new Amaze CVT on previous weekend. The test drive vehicle was ZX trim, and it had the reverse camera with guidelines (though they are static guidelines)

The sales executive informed that mid and top variant comes up with reverse camera

This colour and design combination looks stunning.

My advice to Honda: Anyway, you have watered down the "City" brand by giving City'ish design elements to Amaze. Then why can't you call it "City Junior" / "Metro City" / "City Mini" / "Little City" instead of Amaze?

I'm sure City sales can't go down much, as it is already at 3-digit numbers. But Amaze sales can be definitely improved if they rename it after "City".

Your only selling point in India, if any, is the "City" brand name.
