Also see the proportions of the car from the spy shots and these teasers:
Considering the spy shots, proportions are going be more like this:

Feels like an Accord in the renders, so we need to tone down the expectations and re-imagine it being an Amaze !

re: Next-gen Honda Amaze launched at Rs 7.99 lakhs (ex-showroom)

The renders look wonderful.

But the design sketches do not look to be saving money anywhere. I maybe wrong but even the current Amaze is more expensive than new Dzire or maybe just about on par. With the larger lamps and more premium interiors with bigger screen, the cost will only go up. Hope Honda does not do cost cutting in visible customer zones, not that they do that.

If you look carefully the CVT gear lever is shared with the current Amaze and not the one from the City and Elevate. And the entertainment system is the aftermarket-looking one from the City and lower variants of the Elevate. It is not the nicer looking 10.25-inch one from the Elevate ZX. I don't know who makes them.

Also not 100% sure but I am quite sure that if I zoom in the seats look like cloth (the pattern and colours look like the Brio and first gen Amaze from 2013). But that is too much to say looking at the render.

In any case since there will now be more parts sharing across their whole range that should absorb some costs, plus doing away with tooling for the Jazz platform.

re: Next-gen Honda Amaze launched at Rs 7.99 lakhs (ex-showroom)

The sketches are great ! Now that I see the previous spy shots, I realise the pictures are close to the production model ( by looking at the boot area of the spyshots and the tri-stop lamp thing). Looks great honestly.

But ADAS ! How will this compete with the Dzire? The prices will go much higher!

But let's wait for the real surprise.

They can easily make it an independent option pack on the top variant like MG Astor or Toyota Innova Hycross.

Anyway they will probably improve scale by increasing fitment of Honda Sensing 1st-gen on other models in India like Elevate, as IIRC their global ESG report from last year says that by 2030 they plan to have Honda Sensing 1 with 100% penetration in all developing markets and Honda Sensing 360 (the system with corner radars AFAIK) in developed markets. Or something along those lines, don’t quote me on the specifics.

re: Next-gen Honda Amaze launched at Rs 7.99 lakhs (ex-showroom)

I am afraid that this Amaze and Dzire (at least the rear) might end up looking similar, just how the Ciaz and its contemporary Honda City looks similar from the rear end even though they were designed separately.

The rear end is almost indistinguishable under camouflage.

re: Next-gen Honda Amaze launched at Rs 7.99 lakhs (ex-showroom)

Honda has primarily released this teaser, to get the wind of attention (enquiries in showroom), which the Dzire is getting after the release of Global NCAP results.

Expecting Maruti to release the number of booking received for the new Dzire to counter this.

The design speaks post-pandemic Honda in every sphere.

The current gen Amaze was a sub 4m version of the previous gen Honda Accord in exterior design. So it should be no surprise that they are doing the same for the upcoming Amaze. Though the rear taillights look similar to the current city. The sub 4m sedans are the only segment bringing out good volumes in declining sedan segment, so Maruti Suzuki and Honda are focussing more on this segment. Good for sedan lovers.

Edited with more practical higher profile tyres and smaller alloys. Still looks pretty decent.

Kindly excuse my rudimentary MS Paint edit skills

re: Next-gen Honda Amaze launched at Rs 7.99 lakhs (ex-showroom)

Hi, there seems to be not much excitement for the All New Amaze because Dzire just almost killed it.

Unless Honda make its width atleast 1735mm there is no chance that Amaze will have even the same sales numbers they are doing now because of new Dzire. Except the CVT gearbox, which is again let down by the slow and very ordinary 1.2L petrol engine, there is no significant advantage of Amaze over Dzire.

To my mind, people in general have lost interest and hope from Honda India due to their sleeping when they need to act attitude.

re: Next-gen Honda Amaze launched at Rs 7.99 lakhs (ex-showroom)

I wish Honda really pulls rabbit out of its hat with this New Amaze and take the New DZIRE head on. They are two properly engineered compact sedans available in market now unlike Tigor & Xcent which are effectively extensions of their hatchback versions.

I bought an Amaze about two months back and realized that the feeling of holding a "Honda" steering wheel in your hands is something that can be understood only when you hold it.

When the car glides like a butter on hot pan in the highways at 100 kmph with its 1.2 L engine mated to CVT at a relaxed low rpm of 1800 rpm, you don't even realize you are cruising at that speed. So silent, so smooth.

With such USP along with a few bells & whistles and a very appealing design (which I'm sure it is from the sketches above), the New Amaze should do better numbers than the current version is doing now.

Only time will tell if Honda has cracked the "Indian" nut.

True! I mean how dumb can the senior management at Honda India be? The game has moved to SUVs (sadly including the psuedo-SUVs) in India for years and all they could launch the Elevate was with an NA Petrol engine!! Options with Diesel, Turbo and strong hybrid could have given the likes of Creta and Seltos a good run for their money. What is the point of having all these options and just sitting on them and playing dumb. I just can't get my head around it

re: Next-gen Honda Amaze launched at Rs 7.99 lakhs (ex-showroom)

The interiors of this new Amaze seem to be from HRV which never made it to our shores and instead, Elevate did.

re: Next-gen Honda Amaze launched at Rs 7.99 lakhs (ex-showroom)

For Amaze to be a viable product, Honda must get it crash tested at GNCAP and score 5 stars just like MSIL did. A lot of Amaze customers will now consider the Dzire because of the new design and that 5 star victory.
