Indigo XL : 5.36L ???

Today's advert in HT.

Indigo XL @ 5.36L ex-showroom, Delhi.

Isn't that a huge price cut ??

That must the CLASSIC trim level (without DVD players, alloyw wheels etc.). The GRAND trim level is the one priced at higher price level.

TATA have released a downgraded version of XL more than a month ago. it will not be having blue tooth phone, dvd player and leather seats. rest all are same.
the price is for petrol version.
there is no review or test drive of the petrol version by either AC or OD especially when it is 101 BHP DOHC engine as against 85bhp SOHC indigo
did any one from T-Bhp test drove this petrol version?
DICOR has made it to Indigo apart from XL but this petrol engine was not yet introduced in indigo

Here are some prices (minus any discounts, ex-showroom panvel):
XL Classic Petrol: 5.18
XL Classic Dicor: 5.99
XL Grand 100bhp: 6.53
XL Grand Dicor: 7.19

so not much of a discount on the XL Classic petrol. Unless its the xl classic dicor with a ~65k discount including finance, corporate discount, exchange bonus, yada yada yada(all of which you could've anyways bargained for - nothing new)

After HATING the way the Indigo looks, Iv started liking the Indigo XL, especially the fully loaded one with a pearl white paint job. Looks very classy and at that price very good VFM

Xl

No matter the features, I agree the car lacks Power bigtime. Even the 101PS engine (Petrol) isn't as responsive as one would've hoped for. the dicor has its own share of problems - Noise being the biggest one.

More importantly, as one of my friends remarked ... how can anyone buy a car that's named after a Shirt Size !! sheesshhh ...

That is a nice price, even if it is for the lowest trim. It is a decent car.
