I mean there are salaries and taxes to pay profits to be earned by the company. Its a bigger car higher taxes.
And they ended up like my prediction.

I guess salaries and taxes can wait while they build a customer base.

Nobody cares for mature European design - ask Volkswagen or Fiat. There may be few people who buy the Tiguans, Taiguns and such. But I don't think a company, with very limited reach and who's trying to make a mark should depend on them. In India, technology and features sell. Safety seems to be caching on as well. On both these counts, Basalt seems to have already lost to the Curvv. FWIW, I like the Basalt's rear quarter design more too.

Re: Scoop! Citroen Basalt SUV Coupe spotted testing in Chennai

I just hope they haven't cut corners in some essentials like safety for achieving this aggressive price. Kudos to Citroen. If this is their attitude from now on, I hope they come up with more products and stay in our market for long.

I also hope they relaunch the C3 and C3 Aircross with fresh pricing. That will do a lot to improve their sales.

Re: Scoop! Citroen Basalt SUV Coupe spotted testing in Chennai

Luckily, I didn't sustain any major injuries when falling out of my chair. 7.99 LAKHS?! FOR A CITROEN?!

Of course, we have to wait till the "proper" pricing comes along after October. But until then, I hope to see the cash registers finally ringing at Citroen India HQ.

Yes, they showcased the refreshed C3 and C3 Aircross at the launch event of the Basalt. Gets new features like auto folding IVRM, LED lights and so on. However, price is yet to be announced.

Wonder what happened to the eC3?

Mod Note: Our Citroen Basalt has been taken live at this link. Please continue the discussion over on the new thread. Thanks!
