Road tax or income tax?

Now I don't get it?

What business does the transport department has to levy Income tax?
I mean.. this is income tax... it has nothing to do with road.

What do u guys say?

How is the bentley going to cost 150% more than it already is

that must be a misprint, it should read 250 and not 350, the car is 199 as it is, if you buy it today..

and then ppl say, y is it that the ppl of india are so corrupt and do tax evassion and all the illegal stuff, look at it...this freaking govt, doesnt do jack and want to increase road tax..man when I come back, expect me to be paying bribes rather than road tax 2 these [censored]..

Nope. What the document indicates is that taxation (as a percentage of acquisition price) will increase as the segment of the car goes higher.

Therefore a Maruti 800 buyer will pay 4% tax, while a Bentley owner will pay 15%.

Is this a so called life time tax? In Bangalore, (life time tax) it used to be 10% of the showroom cost. Now I think it's 12%. Life time tax means for 15 years if I'm not wrong.

Yeah I got that, but in the pic the price is given on the left hand side and says 350 (rs in lakhs)

thats why i said....cuz the article reads if the person is buying a 11.2 lakh worth pajero they would pay 50k tax..so considering that bentley is costed at 350, y so?

anyhow this is insane like i said earlier and govt of india can expect me to pay jack to them..

Still the guys in Delhi are lucky. In Andhra Pradesh, road tax is 9% of the car's price.

yes this is the life time tax, or as they say one time tax
Is 4000-6000 till now for any car.

Percentage of car price is a very wrong thing, it makes it an Income Tax.

If other states are already doing it, they are frauds!... Since road conditions in Delhi are better!

then after some time even the RTOs will start charging a % of car price.

Then traffic fines would also be a % of car price.. .. u jump signal .. pay 2%!!

parking rates in delhi are already ... going sky high...
