2017 Hyundai Creta Petrol 1.6 SX AT- Inconsistent brakes
- Strange cost-cutting: No auto-folding ORVMs, No request sensor on passenger side
- AC issues cropping up after 7 years - inadequate cooling
Other than that — this has been the perfect city, and occasional highway companion
2022 Hyundai i20 Sportz Turbo DCT Petrol- Strange cost-cutting even when compared to my older ex-car (2014 Grand i10 1.2 Petrol Sportz): No boot lamp, no push-button stop start
- No rear wash/wipe
- The matt grey styled-steel wheels show scuff marks easily
That apart, I absolutely love everything about the car.
2020 Seltos HTK+ D-AT - The halogen projector headlights are pathetic whether in low or high beam. I cannot see much on the road unless it is lit up by traffic lights.
- Wired Android Auto keeps disconnecting with the slightest jerk. Am using the original phone cable.
2019 Rapid
1. Door automatic lock is a joke. Pull it twice and door opens from inside.
2. No standard backlight for IC. Headlights has to be ON for you to see this. Since there is no auto headlamps, in apartments parking, mall parking etc it is useless.
3. ORVM, no coverage whatsoever. Creates a lot of blind spot than usual.
4. Rear AC vents is for name sake. Throw is abysmal.
The new i20 has very irritating AC actuator noise. On switching the ignition on it makes an extremely irritating noise something similar to someone having an upset stomach! The same noise comes when AC is switched on/off and on turning the car off. It was replaced under warranty once but the same noise started again within 4 months.
Scorpion N Z8 Petrol Manual:
: Pea size glovebox and bottle holders combined with lack of storage space.
: Poor Headlights, on paper looks good but low beam in particular is pathetic, on pitch dark road its fine but the moment you have oncoming traffic your headlamp will suddenly disappear.
: Poor implementation of Start-Stop system.
: Lack of engine modes, in B2B traffic 200bhp sometimes feels a bit too much.
Ignis Zeta Manual:
: Poor headlights.
: Stiff suspension.
: A.C vent design/position, though AC performance is satisfactory i feel the design/position of vents doesn't allow proper air circulation.
I have an i20 Sportz diesel.
Since it's not the top variant my DRLs only turn on when main headlamps including foglamps are turned off and parking brake is not applied.
Then there's no backlit switches for power windows on driver's door except for the driver's power window.
My car has a rear defogger but strangely no rear wiper/washer.
The halogen headlamps are worse than you get on some motorcycles.
Here are my gripes:
1) Car A : Kushaq 1.5TSi DSG - AC isn't the best, could have better fuel economy. Very practical for us - family of 3. Could have a bit more luggage space as well.
2) Car B: Tiago EV XZ+ - stock ICE isn't the best. Feels quite plasticky inside. Great city car though.
I am really so much in love with the Compass to notice its shortcomings. Love has made me blind lol: Nevertheless, if I was to nitpick about something, it will be the cap-less fuel inlet. This was supposed to make my life easier and not worry about losing the fuel cap, instead I have to worry every time I go to a petrol pump. Mostly the clueless attendants will struggle to push the nozzle in giving me heart in the mouth moments. I have lost count of the times when petrol has gushed out while filling because the attendant didn’t put the nozzle properly in.
Not so madly in love with the ZS EV, so I have a list.
1. Seat material is too soft, gives me backache on every long drive.
2. Pathetic music system and reverse camera for the segment.
3. We still haven’t figured out how to fix the official floor mats to their anchor points, they keep moving around.
4. The horn pad is kind of hard to press and the buttons on the wheel are a clutter.

I mean that is a known thing right. Rapid does not have central locking from inside. From outside the automatic lock just works fine.
For me (2021 Rapid)
- Driving in lower gear/lower speeds is bit of a pain. Even a standard parking slope sometimes cannot be driven in 2nd gear. You need to drop to first gear.
- Rear AC or AC overall is not great. In peak summers you have to keep the AC in full blast, atleast for folks in rear seats and that takes a big hit on your mileage.
Rapid:
Service centre, expensive to maintain. Apart from that, it’s a flawless car- all the car I ever need.
Kwid:
Fuel tank capacity is questionable! On paper it says 28L, but it never takes more than 15-18L on a low fuel tank. It means I need to visit fuel bunk almost every week. It gets really annoying.
I own 2012 Hyundai Verna 1.6 sx diesel.
The only issue I have is the low ground clearance which scares me everytime I travel on the worst roads and especially on roads filled with flood water.
Big speed breakers and annoying road imperfections.
Recently I had to replace the front bumper as the approach angle is not good.
Grand i10
While others have mentioned about the reverse gear issue and poor fuel efficiency, my annoyance is with another basic thing - lack of Speed sensing door lock.
I've had people who have driven other brands make an observation that my car's speed sensing door lock is not working and I need to fix it. I sheepishly reply back that my car doesn't have one :coldsweat
Creta 2020 onwards I love it overall but some irritants as follows:
1. Pathetic white LED Headlights : You can't see a damn thing in night when it rains.
2. Light color dashboard panel which reflects in the windshield in daytime.
3. Wireless charger - low power and gimmicky. Heats up the phone on long drive.
4. Boot space : Laughable for the so called SUV and price we pay.
5. Alloy wheel design (single tone) : So busy and boring. It is a cleaning nightmare.

What? A 28-litre tank? I had no idea any car would come with such a small fuel capacity.
This got me curious and my quick search brought up Tata Nano of 2012 as the one with the smallest at 15L. :coldsweat
SKODA RAPID - the DRL keeps going kaput as it did not come with LED DRL in the lower spec models. the diesel clatter is too loud. Feels like driving a tractor.
TOYOTA HYRYDER - the seat comfort over long distance. Seat fabric is not supportive and after 1 hr you start sinking in the seat. We stopped using it for inter City drives altogether. Maybe the leather seats fare better.
KIA CARNIVAL - the interior lights come on either all at once or you have to play around with many buttons to get to a point where only the rear interior lights come on. Haven't mastered it in 2 years.
VOLVO XC60 - the 360 camera comes on the entire screen anytime someone is too close in traffic. This keeps interfering when trying to adjust aircon or music. The autobrake function during reversing is so sensitive. That too when the closest thing is 5 ft away and the reversing was being done extremely slowly. It drops the anchors too harshly.
BMW 328i - the auto start stop would always be on by default and wasn't very smooth. Also took a while to cool down the rear bench. Rear AC vents were namesake at best. The steering would creak every now and then even after 2 replacements of a plastic part inside the colum.
JAGUAR XF - the mechanism to stop thinner fuel nozzle to enter was trigger happy and kept kicking in until it broke off. Also the general jlr reliability issues. It kept throwing random errors and the service center could never accurately diagnose the problem. Most annoying car we have ever owned.
