Heres the link from the other Fiesta thread

Geneva 2008 Preview: 2009 Ford Fiesta Unveiled...Finally an Exciting Small Ford! (The Torque Report)

Looks great, but an unconventional colour to showcase the car. But looks years to come before we get anything close to this rolling from Ford India.

I have a feeling you may be right in saying that. But you know with the Grande Punto making its way here, there is always hope of seeing beautiful cars on indian roads.

Naah!! Too dim chances of this being a small car in India. It would be the next version of Fiesta or maybe launched even higher. Fusion may be reconsidered too.
Its lines have a striking resemblance to those of the new Mondeo which in the UK is selling big time. It will be a welcome change to bland styling of current Ford range in India.

Ford doesn't know what is meant by A.S.S in India. So how are they going to succeed with a small car ?

I guess it will be priced above 6L if it is to be launched in India.
Even if it comes it will take sometime. Mazda 2 is a better option
for Ford India.

For your information Ford had plans of Launching Mazda 2 hatchback in the beginning to India. Many Websites had this info. I guess they have some Mou.
Experts wanted Ford to launch Mazda as a seperate brand and then launch
the Mazda 2 hatchback. Now i guess Ford is not thinking of Mazda2 and thinking of bringing a small car from its own stable.

Before launching any car, Ford has to change the perpective people have of the brand. They need to offer Total Maintainance plans something on the lines of GM has done.
