The Baleno Definately...the ikon is waaaaay too over-rated in the performance n "josh" department...
the baleno will get u a decent FE too...apart from the silky smooth power dilivery n amazing ratios, (cud be shorter tho) the engine begs to be revved hard...

it has got to be the baleno...even if ford ikon solved all the issues mentioned avove i still wont buy it for a very simple reason: the position of the power window button and boot opener!!!!

Again not always true - the Cielo fizzled out despite the price cut. It did do well for a short while but that didnt last.

To sum up, its the value proposition offered by the car as a package that counts over any single attribute such as 0-100 times or good looks or Fuel Efficiency or fancy Bhp figures. We have seen cars succeed despite bad looks or outdated platforms or even bad pedigree. The only single attribute that seems to work against a car without fail seems to be Fuel Efficiency - it can kill a model in no time.

In the case of the Baleno, the price cut has placed the model where it should have been in the first place.

This is really a tough one but if i wanted a boy racer kind of thing, i would go for an ikon.
If i wanted an all rounder a Baleno would do just fine.
In the real world, a Baleno or something like an Elantra also... Basically an all rounder car.
If i wanted some thing to replace our Palio which was also a chick magnet, an Ikon 1.6 ZXi.

Even I would say Baleno, its the choice of Head wheras Ikon is more of a Heart's choice.

As already said, slap some nice alloys on to it after getting it in black and all the aesthetic issues should be solved.

Spare parts

Baleno loses in looks, but makes up in anything else. But one thing which bothers me is that i have heard baleno spares are too expensive. Eg the Wing mirrors are for 6000. Is it true. Can any baleno owners confirm the cost of spares?
