Id definitely recommend this to anyone with a similar budget.
PS: I'll still always be a BMW fan
Me too, would prefer a 3.series any time over C or even E-Class. But sadly, the boys from Munich thinks, Indians don't really need Manual transmission Beyems (courtesy kbk)

Just saw 2 white C class mercs coming out of ARAI.
The car has got a fantastic road presence, esp. for a C.

Well, the C63 AMG, even with its 6.3L engine detuned (only 450 hp, vs. 500 in E63, CLS63, etc.), is faster off the line than pretty much every other Benz (or BMW or Audi for that matter) below the SLR. 0-60 mph (100 kph) in 3.9 seconds . Not bad for a $63k car .

Saw this car in person today @ Sundaram motors. Will TD it in 2-3 days.

It's absolutely gorgeous. Really much better than the old C. The interiors are superb and there is additional leg space.

Here are the pics I took

I really don't like the look THAT much. It looks fresher than the old C class, which is obvious, given the age of that style, but I feel that the Sports version of the new C, with the emblem on the grill looks much better than the one with the hood logo. Sadly though, even the Sports version has a HUMONGOUS logo on the grill, which again kind of ruins the look. I feel a smaller logo on the grill and no hood ornament would have completed the look quite nicely. Just my 2 cents...

The new C has been launched already as per the adverts in ACI by MBIL. I think the car looks bad bad bad. The interiors are so not to be liked types with the brown colours. Its a love-me or hate-me look and i think the BMW 3 Series will beat it as far as Sales are concerened.

The rear looks hideous and the normal grille looks really downmarket, they better give us the Avantgrade version.

Nonetheless, the car looks brilliant in White.... and now with the tuned C220 CDi engine its even more aggressive.

The C-class just brings back those nightmares i have had with my C180 and i'd wait a while before if i were to put my money on a C-class again...especialy the first batch !
The reason i say this is by learning the hard way... the first C180 we purchased as the 3rd car that rolled out on the streets and then we got a second one 6 months down the line. The first car was a nightmare got rid of it 2 years back whereas we still have the 2nd one which has not had even half as many problem as the first.

If the electronic glitches have been sorted i'd definatly pick this over the 3 series.

Yes, it's probably a good idea to let a few months pass before buying a new model, that way someone else can be the guinea pig!

Come to think of it, how big a deal is it to get the right rims? The earlier C180 + E220 had horrible alloy designs, so do the current BMW 320's and 325. I hate those designs.

I think it does make a big difference to the overall look of the car. When the current E class design was first launched it had one of the worst alloys i have ever seen... But with the E270 came better alloys which really changed the look of the entire car imo. Infact, they have once again changed the alloys to virtually the same design that comes on the BMW 523 and 525s.
Not too fond of the 320's alloys but they are still better than the ones that come base on the US version... the 325i alloys are pretty good actually. BMW usually churns out some really good wheels... currently i think the 530i has the best alloys in the country.
