Two questions which could be related - are the doors removable?
1. It has keyless "GO" but not entry
2. Are the mirrors foldable?

Same same but different : ROXX and Wrangler

The Thar Roxx really rocks, both in looks and pricing. However, as already mentioned on the forum, the C-pillar design seems a bit out of place in what is otherwise a well-designed SUV.
While Citroen cars have been severely criticized for using flap-type door handles, it's strange that I'm not seeing similar criticism when it comes to the Thar!

I think the oddball roofline design could be attributed to the addition of the sunroof. I'm just not able to come to terms with the obsession manufacturers have with sunroofs. I know that a good percentage of people like the feature, but there are many, like me, who dislike it and find it useless or unusable in our conditions. Why can't this feature be offered as an option? I fail to understand how difficult that would be for an OEM.
Observation:
AX5L and lower variants get the dash board and door pads from Thar three door although with different colors. What this means is speakers are not in doors. The front two speakers are in the dashboard along with a tiny glove box. The rear speakers are in the roof at the back above rear glass. This is really bad, compromised sound and look.
Mahindra should have kept the design same as AX7L without soft touch treatment and all. They should have retained the speaker placement and door pads of AX7L.
I was so far interested in AX5L but this look changes everything. I'm not interested in skyroof of AX7L and not a fan of the door/dash design of lower variants. :Frustrati

Same same but different, no money no honey! rl:
I'm watching this space very closely, it seems Mahindra really have done great jobs on this vehicle (The SUV). Few curiosity questions I have, if Team BHPians can help me here -
1. What is the Gross and kerb weight of the vehicle? Looks like not mentioned in the brochure.
2. I really want to put my hands in light off-roading thus, want to get experience in a 4X4 vehicle. My monthly drive cycle is mainly city and running would be 1000-1500 km. Thar Roxx is not having petrol 4X4 and diesel would be the only option. I have seen reports/videos about low running/only city start-stop running may casue issues with DPF regeneration. Do you people think about a diesel vehicle in this context? Also keeping in mind with uncertainity of diesel cars in long term.
I am glad that they kept the BLD as standard even in the base variants. Although styling is a bit too loud at certain places when compared to the 3-dr version's on point styling. But these can be easily overlooked when one considers it's superb starting price. Great job by M&M!!

I'm not sure from where got this information but as per my understanding the interior is same on all variants and the only difference is;
MX5, AX5L, AX7L they all comes with the Leatherette wrap on door trims and dashboard panels but MX1, MX3, AX3L don't.
MX1, MX3, AX3L gets 4 speakers,
MX5, AX5L gets 6 speakers
AX7L with 8 speakers and a subwoofer.

The 360 degree view of the 5D Thar shows, front speakers mounted in dash for all variants other than AX7L (which has them on the front doors). The rear speakers placement is the same across variants.
The leatherette wrap on door trims is also only on the AX7L.
Just one question. Which variant gets wireless Carplay/Android Auto? That will help me, atleast, to judge if our family should consider this car seriously.

Check the 360 degree view and you can notice the differences.
Thinking of the next family car, I compared Thar Roxx with Carens! I know, this is not comparable, but why not? As long as you are thinking for a family, what's so wrong in pitting one family car against another?
Notwithstanding the technical superiority, I have compared the two cars only based on their body proportions.
Some observations:
- Roxx engine area is 33% more than Carens (so is the engine!) But perhaps with Caren's steeply raked windscreen, the driver area in both cars can be comparable.
- Front door of both the cars are almost identical.
- I have measured rear door at two levels, one at its widest (near shoulder level) and at its lowest (near footwell). Roxx rear door's widest opening (at shoulder) is same as Caren's smallest opening near its footwell! Roxx's smallest rear door opening at foot level is half as wide as that of Carens.
- Caren's rear door is 40% wider than Roxx and 15% wider than its front door.
- The rear door to tail light (not capturing the bumper) area in Carens is 20% more than Roxx.
Roxx remains a powerful SUV with family possibility, but on interior space, perhaps Carens wins. Maybe Seltos/Creta is a better competitor, but I am not looking at them. Maybe someone who is can do similar exercise.
Carens now needs a facelift soon, with large sunroof and ADAS2. But that's a topic for another thread.
