Black looks gangsta. The grille is not that bad, maybe having the mahindra lettering would have been a good addition.

But I believe we will need to have a mesh behind the grille, the gaps are prone to attract insects or small birds on the highways.

Thar 5 door seems to have all 4 disc brakes in top of the line models while base models may have rear disc brakes as some earlier test mules were seen with them.

This gives the vibes of a stretch Humvee more than a G-Class. Picture this "A rapper/bling guy arriving at a snazzy lobby in a red, black or yellow ROXX and stepping out of the heavily tinted rear with a thumping sound system announcing the arrival much before the door opens"!
I can already see a lot of, people further modding it to look like the stretch Hummer and planting a bar, fridge, lounger and whatnot. This is definitely going to be lifestyle ride because it will be a pain to handle the turning circle of a stretch Thar aka Roxx in the city as a daily driver.

Question for those waiting to book the Thar ROXX, what are you choosing - petrol or diesel? And, why?

Looks to be Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) as part of the ADAS suite.

Hope they offer a non gizmo (read more nigglefree longer term) version without the sunroof/ADAS/the bling electronics but with all the hardcore 4x4 gear with ELD and the higher engine state of tune.

I wish to hope that with the experience of all the niggles from XUV 700, 3XO, and the years of testing Thar 5D, would enable Mahindra to deliver a niggle free product from Day 1, regardless of the gizmos and features.

Is this too much to ask? Or they have learned nothing from XUV700's lifecycle? : |

I own a diesel AT XUV 700 and I am inclined towards petrol Thar ROXX for two main reasons -
  1. Crackdown on diesel vehicles in NCR, limiting the life to 10 years.
  2. The additional cost of urea that we have to bear in BS6 diesel engines.

However, I am very sceptical about the efficiency of the petrol AT version, not sure if I am ready for the single-digit FE.
