swift sport for sure cos i remember reading in some magazine that both the diesel and petrol versions of the fabia will be something like 68bhp; i also remember seeing pictures of the swift sport and it looked awesome-plus if its a limited edition i would definitely go for it!

What about the skyline,then??
218bhp. Good to go for rallies and track. Who would look at homologating a skyline then? Think about it.

All this is just speculative at the moment. No point in arguing until we have concrete info.

Then,U should already be competing in the INRC and ITCC with the Baleno since its perfect for the 1600 class.

If GM can dare to price SRV(with 100 sleeping horses) at 7 lacs, then why cant Suzuki? True, it looses out on space, but should be much more fun to drive than any stock 1.6 we have ever had in India.

Baleno's wont stand a chance against the Fiesta's anna. Neither in rallies or on track. Specially if they are sponsored by MRF & JK. Get the swift super 1600 JWRC and we might see some fun.

agreed the srv has less power as compared to the swift sport, but the difference in interior space, ride quality, comfort etc is vast.you get an optra sized car(without the boot) for the same money.and to think of it,people havent managed to justify the price tag of the srv,i reckon too many people are not going to be very happy with a swift priced at 7l.
anyway, all of this is just a speculation,we shall discuss further when there is some concrete evidence that, it is going to be launched.

No story so far however Swift Sports was shown by Maruti in its stall in Auto Expo January 2006 where I took a photo also. So they had plans for Swift Sports since long back.

Is that front bumper even lower and even less suitable for Indian roads?

And 'Limited Edition'.

Ummm.... That'll be how many exactly?

Really silly marketing label!

Am I missing something? Does anyone remember the limited edition zens with two doors? Carbon & Steel! Or the SE esteem that one of our members Aditya has?

Nitrous thambi, I ain't that rich at the moment to spend 55k on a roll cage, another 30k on suspension and land up on the track. Sometime next year maybe. Not right now. Its easy to say go participate first, but these kind of events need a lot of planning and preparation. No point going under prepared.
