Spotted a Meridian test mule a few days ago. It's definitely testing ADAS functionalities since the sticker at the back says, "Caution, keep distance"

The way Jeep is performing and no future models, they are right with the sticker "Caution, keep distance". :)

Being a Compass owner, hope Jeep expands their portfolio. Such wonderful cars already on path to slow and painful death.

I have always liked the way the Meridian looks. That Jeep Commander grille at the front is very neat. And that elongated profile addresses the issue of the Compass looking rather small when compared to other compact crossovers. The 3rd row was anyways useless, and I feel it is the right decision to offer a 5-seater option. I believe the 2nd row never had sliding seats, and now there won't be a major reason to address this, since there is no 3rd row anymore in the 5-seater guise. I also feel the part after the C-pillar looks more handsome than the Compass, and even the rear has a very neat LED setup that makes it look much more contemporary. Our own tbhp reviews also mentioned that the Meridian rides slightly better than the Compass.

Make no mistake - I LOVE the Compass despite all it's shortcomings (rattles, slightly slower gearbox, diesel-only as of today, price) but I feel the Meridian is the hotter sibling. Of course, those gorgeous brown interiors also made you feel special, but it seems the 5-seater would omit that.

Don't be fooled by the official renders , Meridian has a flaw in its design, it is too low and narrow for its length. It would work in a market when you have something like Kodiak , Tiguan etc for company but in Indian market you need different proportions.

So in the end , it still looks small despite its additional length.

Some updates on Meridian Facelift.

Four variants will be offered:

Any idea when Jeep intends to announce this officially and start deliveries?

Unless Jeep manages to price this fairly in view of the competition, this will be dead on arrival. My 2 cents as a customer looking for an SUV in the 25-32L price bracket. A new turbo-petrol would be cherry on the top for us NCR customers. The erstwhile petrol had poor drivability and even worse FE.

The sales training has already started, and the cars will be in showroom soon.

On the pricing part, the top-end variant is getting premium touch-ups, and more luxury quotient, so it will be priced at a premium.
You won't find this level of premium feel in 25-32L competitors.

Anyways the company doesn't care much of profits selling Jeep cars as they are anyways profitable selling engines to TML and MG and assembling some cars for Tata Motors. Their other arm Citroën too doesn't make profits selling Citroën cars but exports engine, transmissions and components.rl:

MY2025 Compass will be launched post meridian.
The facelift may include ADAS and some more features of connected car tech, but no confirmation.

I doubt if ADAS would be offered in Compass. From my limited conversations with a couple of dealers in BLR, my understanding is this:

1. Jeep Meridian will be the premium offering and will come in 4 variants. The top end variant will have all bells and whistles offering 4x4 with ADAS

2. Jeep Compass to follow suit, but will only be cosmetic. I am happy to be proven wrong as the price point of Compass screams of ADAS features that the competition offers.

When is facelift compass coming ? I am getting sport manual with BH around 20.07, should we go ahead or wait for facelift? I just wish sport came with leather interiors , fabric feels little blah!
