If new go for Palio 1.2. If you are also looking for used car, go for Palio 1.6

Depreciation rules!! (Especially since you dont mind a pre-worshipped car)

List within 5 lacs:

Old Gen Honda City 1.5 (Or even an early Vtec...if you are lucky) Revv the night away

Palio 1.6 (2.5 - 3 lacs). Fast. Comfortable. Safe.

If you can compromise on the space a bit you could go in for Maruti Suzuki Esteem good power and great economy. You will have very less ownership cost and also the very good service back up.

What about the Hyundai Getz...brand new!

Second hand, well, no need to look beyond the City 1.5. The perfect first car - trouble free, fast, good looking...oh yea, its a Honda!

Well,i agree on the Honda and the Palio thingy. They are an absolute delight to drive and are economical too.The only thing that goes against Honda City are the interiors and its safety factor. But besides that its worth the price.
U shud find a nice 2001 vtec/2002 1.5 car for that price.
Happy shopping.

if you are taking a look at old cars then dont look beyond palio 1.6. It should definitly cost you around 3 and should leave u enough cash to do mods:-)

Try considering a Petra if u can stretch Ur budget by 30 k
