You kidding? 4000 rpm is way too much for a virgin engine. Take it smooth, start with a 2500 rpm limit for the first couple of hundred kms...and then gradually increase it by a 100 rpm each time. Typically you should spread out the rpm limit such that you are high revving only by 2000+ kms.

And yes, keep varying the speeds. Expressway kind of running in is not recommended.

congrats on ur new Flair .a black ikon with alloys always looks good.
and i agree with GTO.
u shud not be going above 2000-2500 rpm atleast for the first 1000kms.the entire life of ur car depends on how u drive it now.
and try to vary ur speeds.

Thanx guyz !! only a forum like team-bhp can be as excited about a new car as I am right now !! pics will be up on sunday !! my kodak dx6490 will finally have some work to do !!

satya - so its you !! nice wheels on ur zen !! before I picked up the flair I was thinking really hard about getting the same ones for mine ... that plan's been shelved for the time being as the zen's going back home to calcutta .. but maybe sometime !! will never forget what the zen feels like !!

and .. 9:45 is a little late for me .. usually reach office by 9:00 ... however have been taking it easy for a week or so ... so in case i spot u .. i'll flag u down ..
