While I hate how the current Hyundai Verna looks, I dig the new Camry. And I will go as far as saying that this is the best looking Camry yet. So obviously, I cannot see any similarity between Verna and Camry in the "looks" department. If it weren't for the atrocious pricing by Toyota and then the taxes/duties over it, this would find many takers.

Curious to how the Thai (by that stretch Indian) Camry lost the foglamps. The North American version lost its foglamps in the previous generation itself.

The GCC version still has foglamps in every variant. Though that maybe the ASEAN version has superior more expensive headlights, but nope. The top variants sold in GCC with the superior LED projector lights also has foglamps.

Decided to buy this whenever this launches as need to replace my 8+ year old innova Crysta and now with a Fortuner in the garage I am going to get a sedan for some driving pleasure as tired of SUV's ( already own a Thar also ) and this one is such a beauty

Was getting a fab deal on the new imported Superb but let temptation aside and will stick to the Toyota brand for its reliability.

Curious to know when they start deliveries - hopefully not late.

I hope they don't price it like Skoda did the current Superb! With not as much demand as the Innova Hycross(this earlier delivery), and an expected price not too much expensive either, will this car lure potential Toyota hybrid samplers over the Hycross?

Mechanically, the new Camry retains its 2.5-litre petrol engine, but it is now paired with Toyota's fifth-generation Hybrid System (THS 5). This updated setup is said to deliver a 4 percent increase in combined power output, and has a total output of 230hp, which is about 12hp more than the outgoing model. Fuel efficiency is also said to see a significant improvement, with Toyota claimsing it is over 30 percent more frugal. Like other hybrids in the family, the Camry uses an eCVT gearbox.

Like its predecessors, Toyota has been importing the Camry via the CKD route since the seventh generation launched in 2013, the new model will be assembled at the brand’s Bidadi plant in Karnataka.

Well that did exactly the same. Skoda had the excuse of selling a CBU but this one is CKD and still at the same price.

But you do get more power, and fuel economy (Hybrid system) with this one. And the Camry is 6 lakh cheaper, too.

Well, last I checked, Skoda had discount of >15 Lakh on the Superb, so not really!

Good to see Camry continuing on improvising. Interesting trivia - Camry was first introduced internationally in 1982 and still holds a good brand recall among the buyers.

Initially, a narrow body and wide body Camry co-existed and was in production till 1990s. The name Camry means "The Crown" in Japanese and since 1982 has truly lived upto its expectations!
