A friend is looking at buying an Accord and needs a car rather urgently as he has already sold his Lancer.

Just saw an Auto mag which said that the new Accord is launched in the US and should be launched 'soon' here. Any idea what the lead time is between US launch and India launch?

What has been the pricing history? Will a new model be significantly more expensive than the current outgoing model?

From the look of it, the new accord will be priced at a premium...considering the camry is selling for 26 lakhs, the new accord will definatly cross the 20 lakh mark.

I suggest your friend gets the current accord unless he is willing to wait a year.

The new accord will be assembled in India just like the current accord, so I don't see a significant increase in the price. Considering the CRV which is a CBU still sells for less than 20 lakhs, I don't see the Accord selling for more than the CRV. Probably the same price at the most.

Correct.....The New Accord will have a marginal price increase over the current gen. Since it is expected to be launched in a handful of months, I recommend your friend to wait. The current gen is getting a little long in the tooth.
