If all the mentioned cars are considered with stock tyres then it has to be Getz and Indica for road comfort.
Swift with upsize tyres as most of us have is without doubt the "King of Handling".

According to me Palio's handling/road grip is way better than Gets, Swift and Indica. This is depending on my decesion on buying Palio. I tried Gets, Palio and Swift, not test car but my friend's car, Palio scored more. Indica's suspension are good and gives soft ride on bumpy road.

Handling is not just a factor of suspension or tires ALONE. It is the right balance between the chassis, suspension, tires, GC, steering sensitivity & feel, weight distribution, adequate power from engine that make a car a good handler. And IMO Getz scores the highest points in all categ's except for the sluggish engine. That car with another 10 odd bhp and a revamped torque curve is what you need in a hatch to nail it hard into those corners. I have driven a getz in some really twisty & tight empty roads and they way she took the corners made me grin from ear to ear.

IMO cornering ability and fun to drive will be best with Swift. When it comes to comfort I would vote for Getz and Indica.

Indica's suspension is horribly noisy and I hate the hollow, boomy sound that comes in the cabin everytime it goes over bumps. The suspension might be good per se but its very noisy and takes away everything that is actually good with the suspension.
Even a Santro and WagonR is silent going over bumps although not as good when it comes to cushioning.

Technically speaking, Chevy SRV should also figure in the list. Also the Skoda Octavia whose bodystyle is technically a LIFTBACK which is not too different from a HATCHBACK.

Among the ones already listed here, I have driven only a few and the Swift seems to do stuff right except for the skinny tires which let it down sometimes.

@mods: A Poll will certainly help in getting clear opinion figures.

Technically, isn't the VW Golf based Skoda Octavia a hatchback?
Or does its price elevate its status to that of notchbacks with proper trunks?

Do please add a radio-button for the Octavia too.

On a stock set-up, I find the Palio's suspension as the best compromise between handling and ride quality.

Of the smaller hatches (WagaonR, Santro, Estillo, M800, Spark) my vote would definitely go for the Spark. Its got excellent handling and Good ride quality.

Of the bigger ones, Palio rules!
