Cars that have begun to show their age

There are so many cars in India which IMO look outdated, but still continue to churn out of the factories like hot cakes. Its high time these cars need a major cosmetic revamp, may be even engine upgradation in some cases. The upgradation should not be stupiditly limited to providing 'Clear head lamps and tail lamps' and front grill and then , for e.g terming it as 'All new Esteem' or the 'All new Alto' Here are the top 5 ones (in that order) according to me which urgently need a 'Major' face lift:
  1. Esteem
  2. Accent
  3. Ikon
  4. Corolla
  5. Indica
Pl correct me if I am wrong for the above 5 cars..

Thnx

What else, but

1. The perennial Marutis - 800, Esteem
2. Wagon R
3. Accent

The only observation here is that the pernennial Marutis have become common to an extent that they're part of the background and not noticable.

* The Ikon still looks fresh.
* The Amby is so old now that its started to get heritage status in the eyes of onlookers.
* The Lancer while showing her age, still looks desirable if its been properly maintained.

Amby and Fiat - They are a class of their own. They should not change!!

These need fresh blood:
1. 800 (may be a fresh new 800 to compete with Tata 1 lac car).
2. Esteem
3. Indica

The truth is [major cosmetic revamp] + [engine and drivetrain upgradation] = Fresh car platform = 100s of Crores of investment.

Back in business school they told them never kill a cash cow. So why change something so long as its returns far exceed its investment.

Having said which, here's my list -
1. Esteem (maybe change this into a small sporty platform - even a convertible)
2. Alto - looked dated as it hit the roads
3. Safari - About time really
4. Sumo - Great vehicle with a good stance. So much that can be done with the box style
5. Accent - If it werent for Hyundai fit-finish, it would have been written off soon as it came.
6. Ikon
7. Mondeo - And at one time I thought this was timeless. (I hear there's a new one out there somewhere)
8. All M&M vehicles, including the Scorpio.
9. Indica - looks very ad hoc and thoughtlessly dumpy currently
10. Fusion - Needs a much fresher style to appeal to a younger audience who have money for a good car, but dont want to look aged in a sedan.

To me a Gypsy looks very smart even today. More 'timeless' than any other vehicle that comes to mind.

Tata Indica/Indigo
Corolla
Accent
Ikon
WagonR
Esteem (badly needs a sporty look for the awesome overall car)

Looking at the repeated cars, I guess polling would be a better option.

What does outdated mean?

Why is 2007 designed looks better than a 1997 designed looks automatically?

I agree with theMag, the Lancer while it is pretty old I feel is still one of the good looking sedans on the road. I certainly prefer its looks to the new kids on the block like the SX4, Verna etc.
