Aptly said. I am waiting for both the Mahindra and Suzuki EVs to be launched here.

On paper Mahindra definitely has a winner, however like you rightly pointed out, Mahindra is probably trying to iron out the issues before it launches them in the global market.

It did the same with the XUV7OO and Scorpio. I am assuming Mahindra will be priced lower than the Suzuki EV as and when it gets launched here, which will make it far more lucrative than the Chinese.

Having said that, Mahindra has been selling cars in Australia for a long time - and there aren't many negative reviews - however I don't see any Tata vehicles here. May be because they know their products aren't ready yet to be launched in markets where consumer laws are stricter.

Very strange. They had started accepting bookings, right? Maybe still some teething issues which they need to iron out.

Maruti e Vitara launch delayed, deliveries by September.

The launch of the e Vitara has been delayed again, with chairman R C Bhargava confirming that deliveries of the electric SUV will begin by the end of September.

Re: Maruti e-Vitara @ Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025

Should give them time to iron out issues. Instrument cluster not covering the full screen area, not being able to adjust regen on the go, cabin noise issues, no frunk, the list goes on. And no AWD ? Good, see it fail spectacularly. Charging speed is not as they claimed, it's able to attain the peak charging speed for a short time, and tapers off. And it'll cost 22 lacs ? No thanks. I'll rather get a BE6. Or Tata Harrier EV. Even the Creta EV is a better proposition than this . All these issues can be sorted out if they drop the Maruti mindset, and think like Suzuki, which made Kizashi and SX4.

I'm very sure that most of us are bashing Maruti for the high price, but no one can assure of the same until Maruti reveals it.

The reason why Mahindra, Hyundai are selling their new EV at a hard-to-Believe price is because they would rather not pay the fines to the Government towards CAFE norms and market their EVs at a better pricing.

The delay could also be attributed to Maruti not willing to botch up the Indian Launch without having significant know-how about the service & managing the Support for a ambitious launch in their biggest market.
They would rather fail in a smaller markets, then being mocked in India, and rollout a red carpet for competitors to take up the EV game ahead.

and yes, The eVitara has a BIG USP - Maruti Suzuki badge, that resonates well with Indians. If the Grand Vitara can fight with THE Creta, why can't the eVitara replicate the success story in EV?

I'm happy for two reasons:
1. This is a new car with totally new Tech. Let the Foreigners be the guinea pig for the eVitara. We will at least get a sorted product that will be free of bugs, Not that Maruti cars are made at Tata motors plant.
2. Maruti can you still make the small tweaks while they can for the Indian market.

Hyundai is not selling its cars at hard-to-believe prices. The Creta electric is overpriced, and no wonder it's been a sales dud so far. Mahindra has been successful with shocking prices for base variants of its ICE models like XUV700 and Scorpio N. They are following the same strategy with their EVs. While the base variant of BE 6 starts at Rs 19 lakhs, the top-end variant costs Rs 27 lakhs. It's the same with XEV 9e. Their target is higher volumes. This will allow better pricing from suppliers. In addition, when you consider 5% GST and PLI scheme incentives, their overall EV margins will be similar, if not better than XUV700 or Scorpio N.

The EV market is slightly different from the ICE market. EV consumers are very much aware of the major EV specs like range, battery capacities, charging speeds, etc... eVitara is lagging in all these aspects when compared to BE6 and XEV 9e. The badge alone will not save eVitara from becoming a sales dud. Creta is the biggest brand when it comes to SUVs for many years. The previous-gen Creta sold in record numbers year after year despite being one of the ugliest vehicles on sale. Still, Creta Electric is selling in very poor numbers due to poor EV specs (range, battery capacity, charging speeds) and high pricing. If Maruti follows the similar pricing with eVitara, it will also be a sales dud.

Re: Maruti e-Vitara @ Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025

I watched some international reviews and it makes me think that Suzuki is working on fixing some software bugs as there were quite a few on the test cars that were being driven. The driving dynamics too were not up to the mark compared to European cars, so that might be worked upon.

Re: Maruti e-Vitara @ Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025

I guess Maruti is using the imported BYD battery pack as a stopgap measure till the Toyota solid state batteries are available. This is probably to keep the investment in BYD batteries to a minimum.

During our exclusive Preview Event at four special locations in the Netherlands, you can admire the e VITARA up close. The car is ready to be discovered inside and out — tough, stylish and completely ready for an electric future.

Please note: there is currently no possibility for a test drive . However, you will have every opportunity to view the car extensively from the inside and outside and you will be one of the first to take a turn as soon as a test drive is possible.

Re: Maruti e-Vitara @ Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025

Looks pretty impressive, the e-Vitara! It resembles a Ferrari Purosangue from the rear

Doesn't look a lot like the Grand Vitara, so it has to be an inborn EV, which is a good thing. Expectations high on this one!
