Honestly speaking, the tail lights looked very similar to the eVitara. Maybe a larger battery pack version? My only gripe is that the car was being tested in Bangalore, which gives me the feeling that this might be the Toyota version, given the relative closeness of their Bidadi plant to the city.

EDIT: A couple of posts before mine, I see sharmanova has posted a very similarly camouflaged car which looks like the eVitara itself.

The shut lines around the rear doors and tailgate and the protrusions from the tail-light seem to be very similar to the Maruti prototype that was posted in this thread:

It’s purported to be the seven-seat version of the Grand Vitara, but according to the thread the jury is still out and i am inclined to agree with members saying that the proportions don’t agree with it being a three-row design. The bonnet shutlines don’t match with the Grand Vitara nor the Hyryder, and although the silhouette has a Brezza-like vibe, the ORVM assembly is different from the Brezza.

There was a thread a few days ago which reported that Maruti is working on a more premium sub-4 metre crossover:

Saw the vehicle in Nexa showroom today. The car looks really well made. Fit and finish is way above other suzuki cars in india. Space inside was also really good. Unfortunately when asked about prices, they mentioned 24-30 lakhs ! Sales person mentioned something about a launch tomorrow for it.

The dealerships in Hyderabad have indicated Feb end launch. Display and test drive cars would arrive only after first week of March. I have put a word with 2 different dealerships and have shown interest to buy if the launch happens before end of this month. Maruti needs to price this car right to make it competitive to Creta EV and Mahindra BEV base variants.

I have a feeling that these early units to dealers are meant for the technicians to become aquainted with new techonlogy, rather than for public display, even though it serves that purpose too. Unless someonce can verify that any dealer got multiple units not just one unit, than I'll be wrong.

It seems you are right. I checked today with Pasco Nexa Gurugram (Sikander Pur showroom) and they have removed E-vitara from the showroom today. Sales guy told me that they are expecting to receive display cars shortly, but he had no idea about the launch date, prices, etc.

Maruti Suzuki did not explained to the public about the "Smart Grill with Adaptive Shutters" for "Superior Aerodynamic Performance" on the e-Vitara.

It feels good to see Maruti car sent for crash tests. Lot of Indians put their trust in Maruti and buy them for peace of mind and good after sales experience.

Maruti is catching up with competition. If eVitara scores at least 4 stars in crash test ratings, prices eVitara competitively, then Maruti is set on right path and could lure good set of buyers from other manufacturers.

The e-Vitara will likely score 5 stars due to standard safety features like 7 airbags and several others. Hopefully, MS won’t repeat the pricing mistake they made with the Jimny. If priced well and by improved charging infrastructure, it will definitely sell like hotcakes.

AWD for EVs in India doesn't make sense and will not sell in numbers.

Suzuki e Vitara with AWD (will also sacrifice the spare wheel) is earmarked only for exports.
