Hey guys,

just came to know reliance has started distributing 98 octane petrol at their pump on the thane belapur road. They have started just last week...I had gone to fill up along with rusted pistons and got to know of this. Pics.

Awesome!! But I imagine only imported machinery to opt for this fuel. Why on the Thane Belapur? Also what was the price of 98 Octane vs the regular?

98 Octane will not necessarily improve the performance of most Indian cars.

Great find drifter but any idea of price. And I think it should really available in main Mumbai city. Thats where most of the casrs that drink that fuel live

98 Oct would be useless on our cars. You will need a high compression engine to be able to utilise that sort of fuel.

I dont know about the price guys...forgot to ask...hehe will do next time...but its bound to be higher than regular 93 octane petrol. And yes i dont see any point of it being located at koper khairne to be precise...there arent any cars that can make much use of it there. n_c can tank up easily though...its like right besides his office.

Yeah, but looks like reliance beat them to it.

BP has octane 95 at some town-side outlets.now 98 octane shud be fun.hehe.how abt a half tank of 98 and half of 87.that shud be 92.5 octane of full tank.
so if u consider a full tank of a zen of 36 liters(18 liters of 98 at rs 55 and 18 liters of 87 at rs 44),it shud be about 49rs/liter of 93 octane fuel.
hehe thats still cheaper than the 50rs for speed 93.,which i any case wud not be 93 octane

PS:here i have assumed 98 octane will be 55rs/liter.if it is less than that ,which it shud be,then this idea wud be more cheaper.imagine filling half tank of 98 petrol and then moving forward to the normal petrol pump
