What's this new craze over connected DRLs or LED strips connecting both headlamp clusters? I wonder why manufacturers think they would look good on every car. The Verna started this trend, but now it seems many are opting for it.

The vehicle seems well priced for what it offers, and given its a CBU, if it can be priced this way, I can only imagine what the assembled in India version would cost - for sure would be a great price to own this machine.

Design is very unassuming, but the overall package is done well and ticks most of the boxes for a buyer in this segment.

I feel BMW X1 LWB has set the benchmark for the pricing in this segment and is pushing everyone else to price theirs rationally.

Why do expensive cars remove the gear shift lever (auto or manual)? What do rich people use the Center console for? Sitting?

Do rich people think the gear shift stick is a very “proletariat” thing?

Also, at 60lakhs on road in Mumbai, It’s so way overpriced.

I have no idea what rich people think. But the Citroen 2CV had its gear shift stick coming our of the middle of the dash. So did several Renault, e.g. R4

When it comes to proletariat, nothing outdoes the CV2. It was designed specifically for rural, farming France.

Dear all,
The fuel lid shows E10. Does it mean we need to always fill XP 100 or else damage the engine. Experts please comment. The ethanol content in XP 95 is more than 10%.

Regards

Yes like the above post ^ I too noticed the E5-E10 lable on the fuel tank lid. With the indication of moving towards E20 soon, how will these cars survive? What will be the impact later on and what is the solution as someone buying a 55-60 lac car would want to use it for a decade atleast.

There's not a single physical button in the centre console, Why ? We absolutely cannot fiddle in the touchscreen to adjust the HVAC during driving in city or on a highway.

As I said elsewhere, at a on-road price of nearly 60L, VW Tiguan is just as good as dead on arrival because, anyways, VW never intended it to sell in any numbers being a CBU. Hope the VAG group prices the Kodiaq rationally if they really intend to sell any numbers in India. Otherwise their strategy is just a lot of useless noise.

Cheers...

It's all due to cost optimization. A small slotted switch replaces the more tactile lever.

Although, it is a cost thing, it feels a bit "trans-genderish". I dare not say more

Two reasons, I guess - direct linkage and also plenty of room under the dash for transporting a sack of garlic or a truffle hunting piglet.

Dead on Arrival. Except a few enthusiasts, who will certainly enjoy driving it, it is not going to sell too much. I have no clue how many CBUs have been imported, but it would have better to import more T-Rocs and offer them at the competitive price like earlier. It is what it is, though. Brand building exercise, that's all.

Pricing seems a little high, but its gets loads of features and better interiors than the segment leader Fortuner.

It would be interesting to see good discounts on it after 6 month or 1 year.

Now waiting for the 2025 Skoda Kodiaq, that will be more practical and VFM

Is it only me who can see lots of inspiration from Suzuki Grand Vitara by inspiration I mean copying vis-a-versa. Now I am unable to unsee. People will pay the premium for "R' badge.

Can't help but notice the ₹₹₹ sprinkling all over the cabin. This is indeed a Richie Rich Car clap:

But falling in the likes of the highest selling Luxury SUVs, it is sure to face stiff competition. Best wishes VW! now waiting for the GT.

Why do companies provide useless features like heated seats and get away with it?

Especially when someone is paying north of 50 lacs for a car! How hard is it to change such things before making a market specific launch?

Worst part is no one complains, because it is a CBU:Frustrati

Just a note for the people complaining about the lack of ventilated seats, mind you, this is a CBU, a foreign spec (probably UKDM with the gauges and stuff set to kmh), completely built using their standards, and most of the time in EU and UK, you don't need cooled seats as much as you do heated seats and steering.. So they probably did not go to the hassle of getting it retrofitted. Though, if it does get locally built, I'd expect them to actually put cooled seats instead of heated seats.

The 360 camera? That I've got no clue why they skipped that one.
