I went for this since constantly charging my phone due to wired connection for short 30-minute daily drives was killing the phone battery.

Let me know if anyone is able to buy it separately for their older version large displays. I have the new Tucson.
I bought the same product through Amazon and it works brilliantly, has been just over a month. No delays and connects perfectly each time. There is slight lag in audio when compared to wireless connection but nothing too serious.

Would have loved to go for the OEM model if it was available at the time of purchase. :

No, not in Hyderabad yet. last week I went to showroom and I was shown Blaupunkt USB to wireless AA and CP adapter. it did not look anything in the advert and did not have Hyundai logo. it was priced 4300, approx. I didn't opt for it.
could not get its picture.

Re: Hyundai Alcazar now gets a wireless adapter for Android Auto & Apple CarPlay

Almost bought the portronics one last night, but then found out about the hyundai one through this post. Purchased the Hyundai one from the dealership @ Rs. 4500 (incl. taxes) today. The accessories guy hadn't tried the product before since it only came in stock a few days ago. He happily offered to tear apart the packing and try it in my Ioniq 5 before asking for payment. Luckily, all worked good, seamless and without delay with both iOS and Android.

Switching between devices felt like a bit of a pain, but then I read the user manual which says it is necessary to turn off both Wi-fi and Bluetooth on the connected device, before it can switch over to another device. A hardware button would have been nice too!

The best part it is that it looks like a part of standard cabin interior and doesn't stand out or feel like an accessory.

Does this mean that this will work on the 2024 Creta too?

Can you share the part number and a photograph of the device please. Will be easier to check with the SA at BLR.
Incidentally, I have ordered a Carlinkit mini SE pro for my 2018 Verna today (arriving tomorrow)and was planning to test that on my father’s 2024 Creta before ordering one for him.

If the OEM accessory is available for a little more premium, would prefer the same.
Thanks

If wired carplay / android auto works, then this should work. In any car brand I suppose, unless Hyundai has put in some sort of restriction which I doubt. Maybe someone can try it on another car too! But why not just try it before purchase at your nearest dealership?

I have some photos that the dealership shared before I visited them.

Does it work for both Android Auto and Carplay? I suppose other factors to consider are time to connect (Hyundai one takes ~5s) and if it gets sluggish after a while (I have only used for a max time of 1hr at a stretch, so can't say. It does get warm though).

At 4.5k, I think the price is a little steep considering you can get a non HD firestick at less than 2k. But yes OEM comes with peace of mind.

Thank you for sharing photos.

Has anyone tried the device in new Alcazar? how stable is the connection with the mobile(s), heating? any knowledge on this product would help.

Good to know the availability of the wired to wireless adapter with the dealer. However, the price is higher than what was advertised or seen in the media. I have price to be ~3000-3800. The price on the packing shows 4.5k. I will enquire with dealers in Hyderabad if they can order one quickly.

Do you mind trying it out in another car that has wired CarPlay and Android Auto? It might work for other cars as well.

Re: Hyundai Alcazar now gets a wireless adapter for Android Auto & Apple CarPlay

I had booked my Alcazar in the end of April and took delivery early May 2025. The mobis wireless dongle was kept in my glovebox when I went to take delivery. I thanked the Sales associate for it, as I had never asked nor reminded him about it. He told me he was not aware who kept it in the glovebox.

However, the packaging had the last 5 digits of my car's VIN written on it by pen. So someone in the factory dispatch may have kept it. I am still guessing.

Coming to its usage. It works flawlessly. Wireless AA connects super quick and there is no lag. However, the heat and battery drain in my phone limits my usage of it.

Are Hyundai and Kia planning on providing this for all their customers, not just the Alcazar buyers?

Re: Hyundai Alcazar now gets a wireless adapter for Android Auto & Apple CarPlay

I realize now that the Ioniq 5 data port doesn't stop supplying power even after the car is turned off and locked. Hence, the adapter remains on even after the car is turned off, consuming 5W/hr of power from the low voltage battery.

It doesn't seem too much but nonetheless not required for a carplay adapter (in comparison to dashcam) which should turn itself off even if the car doesn't stop supplying power. However, it doesn't turn itself off quickly - I found it on 6 hours after turning off the car! Thankfully, the adapter light was off after parking overnight at home. So I assume there's a 8 or 12 hour standby time on the adapter.

I am going to try and plug the adapter in a computer to see if it offers an interface to fiddle with these settings to standby, but likely the firmware is embedded and not configurable.

Sidenote: For people looking for an affordable option, I just found there's a Nexgears adapter at just 1200! It comes with both USB-A and USB-C ports, and who knows, maybe it even has a better shutdown behavior!

Hi, found this thread on Reddit regarding the Nexgear dongle, looks like it might be a scam. Sharing it for awareness: https://www.reddit.com/r/CarsIndia/c...lay/?rdt=63280
