This is what you'll get as the Pete's Box for Getz here in India as you can see, it already exists.

The Safety link doesn't say optional. ABS is available only in the GLX model(Petrol).

So it says only one thing, the diesel engine is quite expensive to make.

Price of 2 Turbos = Price of 1 VGT
That's a load of crap. A VGT will cost 10k over a fixed geometry turbine, and that's at market rates. OE suppliers will give them way cheaper. Yes, diesel engines are slightly more expensive to make, but Hyundai's milking this as far as they can.

Also in India, for the same model, diesel sell more than petrol. Hyundai know this and hence they are charging a premium for their diesel. This tactic has paid off. I see more diesel Vernas than petrol Vernas.

ABS is MANDATORY as per what I was told by a senior Hyundai person.

Based on this I need to think of shifting my VDI(ABS) booking.
5,69,744/- Ex-Showroom Bangalore.

Taxes would amount to approx 80k in our wonderfool state.

I was told the same thing by a senior hyundai guy at trident here. He said ABS will be there on the D.

So, If it does have ABS then the difference between the Swift Vdi and Getz D will be 50K, else if no ABS then 70K difference.

Senior guy at trident told me that ABS will be introduced after some time..he does not recommend diesel without ABS as it has loads of power. I should have waited for 4 more months..I waited 1 year for this car..lost patience and went for petrol..Patience Wins.. Only consolation is that I saved 1.5 lakhs...

@PatienceWins, As long as your happy with your car nothing else matters. Something better, harder, faster, stronger always comes along !! Your statement is a little confusing at first glance (gives the impression you were told no ABS with the Getz D.)

In a few days concrete details will be available. First ones to have TD will probably be Delhi/Mumbai. So hope people wont let this thread go O/T until such time with wild speculations and non CRDI discussions!
