Isn't the premium for the engine more than 1L (over the 1.3 petrol)?

In the specifications. Its-

Getz 1.3 GLS (1.3 base version) - [Front fog lamps+ B/C ORVM+ B/C door handles+ Rear spoiler+ Mud Guard (No mud-guards? Thats cost cutting to extreme)+ seat back hook+ tail gate open indicator+ Front driver arm rest+ seat back pocket+ side pockets+ cloth upholstery+ Rear wiper and washer].

What you get instead is the 110bhp engine instead.

Price of 1.3 GLS (ex-delhi)- 4,75,900
Price of 1.5 CRDi GVS- 5,69,900.

EDIT: kpzen, its stated so in hyundai website. The car has been launched.

It should be an approx 1.5 CRTD(CRDI) in India. However preliminary reports suggest that the sprint to 100 wont be that great. But i guess it will offer excellent economy.
I guess your Industry sources got confused with this

:::::: Hyundai Motor Company::::::

The global Hyundai site has two versions of the Getz 1.5 CRDi. One is "Lower Power" which belches 88 bhp and "High power" is 110 bhp. The later has been launched here now.

Performance vise its got some decent figures
0-100kmph in 12.1secs
top speed: as of now they say 165kmph, im sure she should do much more.

YUP! putting the 110bhp Verna motor into the Getz might just eat a bit off the Verna sales. I think it would have been better if they could have put the 3 cylinder 1.5 CRDi (Accent)engine into the Getz and priced it somewhere around the Swift LDi or VDi whichever was easier and im sure they could have done it, but with their 4 star NCAP rating and this new age diesel engine, the GETZ will not just target the Swift buyers but the other upcoming diesel entries like the Fabia.

110bhp & 24KGM torque and 12.1 secs to 100, thats dissapointing to say the least, stock swift with 35bhp defict in horses does it in 13.7secs or so.

I saw a road test that quoted 11.1 secs to 100.

The most expensive Getz comes in GVS trim, why did Hyundai feature cripple their Crdi version?

The ex-showroom price is higher than the ex-showroom price of Baleno 3 years back. How many will pay so much for a hatch. What was Hyundai thinking? Similarly equipped Swift Diesel is 70K cheaper and even Maruti offers a higher trim for people who need it. This Hyundai attitude is disgusting.

I doubt about it's acceptance. It's too costly and giving lower trim. It's not full packed fun.

Price wars!

(All in ex-showroom delhi)
Getz GLE 1.1- 3, 95, 900
Swift LXi- 3, 99, 990
Swift VXi- 4, 28, 869

Getz 1.1 GVS- 4, 28, 900
Swift VXi ABS- 4, 48, 719
Swift DDiS LDi - 4, 73, 110

Getz 1.3 GLS- 4, 75, 900
Swift ZXi- 5, 04, 583
Swift DDiS VDi- 5, 06, 041

Getz 1.3 GLX- 5, 10, 000
Swift DDiS VDi ABS- 5, 25, 881
Getz 1.5 CRDi- 5, 69, 900.

Getz CRDi 96k more than Swift LDi, 64k more than VDi, and 44k more than VDi ABS. (Can someone confirm if Getz CRDi has ABS option?).

Knowing the value conscious Indians, will be give such a premium for more power and build quality? (team-bhp'ians like us will... )

EDIT: Anyone knows if Getz CRDi qualifies for tax reductions? Its a 1493cc diesel and meets length restrictions.

The Car has failure written all over it. Save a few enthusiasts who will buy for a high performance engine, no one else would buy it. Overpriced to the core.

Hothatches never sold well in India. Fiat knows.

I repeat : 6.5 lakh rupees for a Getz without ABS and some other cut-price tactics is way too overpriced. Good on Hyundai for offering the mega engine, but an extremely optimistic price. Lets see whether the market wants to pay 70,000 more than the Swift.

My prediction : Wait a while for discounts and price corrections.

Correctly said GTO.

I almost decided to buy this car thinking that it will be GLX(ABS + rear wiper etc etc ..) + diesel .

BUT...

It's GVS

So same old getz story repeating again ,
It will not get huge response , they will start giving discounts in 2-3 months (40 - 50 k), will bring another upgraded + expensive model of diesel. . again 2 months , again discounts .

Buy it at that time ~6.2lkh OTR with GLX diesel.
(Petrol GLX is 5.2 OTR after discounts + 1 lkh for diesel)

When hyundai is going to learn the basics?

The VGT costs 10k extra, but thats easily covered by the tax concession. So why the manhattan pricing with no special features to speak of ?!
