Hey RMB - Price you have mentioned is wrong I believe.

Website quotes 5,69,744 Rupees for Ex-Showroom Bangalore.

Also I feel that buyers here in North India would be more keen on buying this car as it is cheaper here.

Doesn't the Ex-Showroom remain almost the same throughout the country..
The On road price of the cars up north are cheaper because of minimal road tax.

Ex showroom prices in Delhi are cheaper than Bangalore or Bombay.

Getz specs really look good on paper. Some points in favor of getz compared to swift:

1. VGT engine + more power
2. Better build
3. more space
4. nice suspension / comfort
5. 40:60 split seat

CONS:

1. Price. I know the price if for engine, build, space but getz is not selling that well they should have gone maruti way by increasing prices as demand and stuff.
2. Swift is still the hot hatch priced less than getz.
3. Trim levels are less compared to swift D

Some Points on more confusion (which mostly making swift a VFM)
1. ABS / NO ABS. According to official website there is no ABS
2. HANDLING. Will getz be able to handle that much power as its handling is not as good as swift. Even Swift Tailgates but it handles pretty good.

Even I was surprised to hear it, as I had checked the price on website. I re-checked with that guy about the price immediatedly thinking he might have mistaken it as 97 instead of 79, but he qouted it as 5,97,575 again. Will confirm it when I go for TD day after tomorrow.

TD in Bangalore so fast? I had inquired with Advaith as well as Trident regarding this. They said once they get a display vehicle, the TD mule would follow shortly.

Make sure they arent giving you the Prime Petrol for TD !

I visted trident Hyundai showroom (sanky road) yesterday. The TD vehicle has not come yet. He said it would come sometime next week. I guess the Hyundai call centre guy gave me wrong info. The price is 5.69L ex-showroom and 6.60L Onroad Bangalore.

Just to show me how it might feel, the showroom guy gave me TD of Getz prime followed by Verna CRDi The CRDi is a rocket! I feel it would be even more fun in Getz.

Can you share the link where you found the price for GETZ Diesel? Getz D is still not up on the official site - Hyundai Motor India.

My guess is that they may de-tune the power figure by a small margin. They dont want to canibalize the Verna Crdi. Still with around 90 - 100 bhp, the Getz will be a rocket! A contender for the 'hot-hatch' throne.

Here is a list of std features for Getz CRDI

Welcome to Hyundai Motor :: Hyundai Getz Prime

The price ex-showroom Pune is Rs. 575058/-

Hyundai, well that is too high a price. You definitely are aiming for your foot. No ABS, air bags, no rear wash / wipe, just a defogger. And no one knows how will the brakes (rear drums no discs), suspension and chassis handle this huge power?
