Can the guys who have done a TD or seen the vehicle throw some light on if the color of the TD vehicle is Cycus Grey or Steel Blue? I was not sure if the color in the ebrochure and the photos posted by rajismine was the Grey or Blue. Has anyone seen any colors other than that of the TD vehicle?

Actually I felt the same when I first sat in the Safari (3.0L) and I'm 5'10". Then I realised that the height adjuster on the driver's seat moves the seat forward and up together. The TD vehicle had the seat at the max height, so it was much closer to the steering giving a feeling of a very cramped seating position.

@Rangraj, you may want to check this out and try lowering the seat and then check the leg space.

Its very strange, the RT on VX for Karnataka is coming out to be 15.4% which seems fishy, now if someone having contacts in the RTO can clarify whats this all about. Ideally we should be paying 10% for EX,LX and 12% for VX on the ex-showroom price(see link below).

Unless the rest of it goes either in the dealers/RTO officials pocket (I believe, no receipt is given for RT)

The RTI act can also be useful here.

But for VX its comng out to be more than 12%, which seems a mistake unless its category changes.

If the exshowroom of a vehicle crosses 10L in karnataka the road tax goes up from 10% to 15%. That's why teh tax is more.

No Vid, It doesnt say so, it says

"for vehicles exceeding 5 lakhs but not exceeding 10 lakhs its 10%"

"for vehicles exceeding 10 lakhs its 12%"

and since they are considering even omni buses I dont think safari crosses 5 sqmt category too.

This is something to be digged into.

There must be tuning boxes and remaps available for the 2.2 engine in europe so lets see who imports them first.

Let the 2.2 come out into the market. Let it run a while in its original state, and let the engine settle down.

By then we'll get the 2.2 box down.

Dadu, the page says as on 2003 april. These new taxes were put into place this year.

I know this as I had someone about it. The Optra Magnum LT has one model which has ex-showroom tag of 10.02L which is 12K more than the normal LT model. The onroad price for this model is higher by 55K. This is only for a special paint colour.
