Deals on cars gonna be better this Deepawali?

Am just pasting a part of the news you can read it in full here
Samachar.com - The bookmark for the Global Indian.The Hindu,News

Says ICICI vehicle loans head N R Narayanan: “In the car market things will be no different. But in two-wheelers you will see extra contribution from dealers, manufacturers and financiers.” In cars, the 0% financing option was never a big draw. Even when the 7.99/8.99 rates became the norm, customers knew that there was a catch somewhere.

“Abnormally low rates were a big draw for two-wheelers and you can expect some 4.99/5.99% interest rate schemes this festival season,” he says. As for cars, there will be “upfront schemes where the customer knows there is no catch. So there will discounts, free insurance and accessories worth around Rs 30,000-40,000,” he says.

Car makers are offering huge discounts and incentives, while banks are offering lower interest rate packages to bring customers to the showrooms for the next two months as the festive season kicks in.

For those preferring new models, the General Motors Spark is coming up with a discount of Rs 35,000 while the mid-segment Logan from Mahindra-Renault is offering a rebate of Rs 40,000. Fiat Palio Stile hatchback is off by a handsome Rs 38,000.

For the die-hard Maruti-Suzuki customer, its latest hatch, the Zen Estilo, comes with a Rs 45,000 rebate with dealers pitching in with further discounts on interest rates. Its other models too pack in quite a punch: the WagonR carries a discount of Rs 40,000 and the Alto Rs 34,000 while the old war horse Maruti 800 is off by Rs 25,000. Maruti’s mid-size sedan Esteem offers an impressive discount of Rs 56,000 for the Dushera-Diwali season.

Thanks man... i'm purchasing WagonR Vxi during Diwali and 40K discount is very hearth warming....presently its 15K discount and a holiday trip for 3 days and 2 nights for two. I asked them to give cash discount for the holiday trip but they said they cannot do that.Is this 40K is a cash discount totally or is it on exchange or something like that?

Ford is offering free insurance on the Fiesta

Maruti is also giving cash discounts on all models except SX4

TATA is also offering discounts on all models except Safari.

People have posted Car loan Interests as low as 11.4% and 10.5% (for 3 yrs) from ICICI and Axis bank respectively.

Hi guys, this months' magazines contain articles indicating that a cess to promote public transport is to be levied, & consequently, prices of cars could increase a tad !?! The aim apparently is to get us off our cars & into buses, & trains...

I think its going to take them more than a CESS to get us Bhpians to give up our rides! [Come up with bullet trains that we can drive ] Till then happy cruising Bhpians....

Hyundai is probably gonna launch the PA around the same time. Wonder is its intro price will further impact the price of cars in its category (WagonR, Estilo, etc). Not sure if Maruti is offering any discounts on the Swift - probably wont, considering the demand!!

56k off on Esteem , I guess it's gonna increase a bit as they want to clear off the stocks, for those in the negotiating phase, keep the "This car is discontinued" song playing till you know you can't squeeze anything more out of them...
Happy Hunting

@Sanchits - You may get a deal on City but not in Civic atleast not on cash they may settle for Accesories.

@Raja - I feel the accesories gonna come down a bit. But make sure u make no deal with dealer for accesories. Visit a specialist accessory wala for accessories. If some1s around who knows one then it can be a steal.
