last so many days - no news , no scoops, no authentic information. Hyundai and Hyundai lovers not necessary - we are all car lovers and its now long awaited- with may not be same enthu level as that for Safari 2.2 , but definitely it will outsell safari !! so again - auto tranny - sunroof- !! awaited.

Pa will be made in their new plant, can anyone find out if the production in that plant has started or not, it seems the Pa is slated to be out only at the end of this year. I guess they will start taking the bookings this year and start delivering only in Jan.

Here is some news / info/ compiled from various sources.
Hyundai is working hard for price and launch.
After talking to many people, some of who drived the car, I understand car will be one of best product by hyundai. Car may or may not be available for delivery in Diwali but its worth waiting for it. It will be one of best city car.

1. Car name is i10 which has codename PA.
2. Car has 6 varients.
3. Car is permium hatch.
4. gear shift is moved next to dash.
5. alloy may not come as std.
6. automatic climate control may / may not come.
7. real wiper will be there.
8. engine is reworked and more effecient.
9. car may give 15-20 FE.
10. its 1.1 petrol only.
11. Top end will have sunroof.
12. AT version is available in one of varient.
13. Airbags + ABS will be available as std or optional / in option pack.
14. new type of power steering may come.
15. width has increased.
16. engine is too smooth.
17. sales training is going on. service training done.
18. suspension is improved.
19. no diesel at moment, may come later.
20. production will happen in 2nd plant which has started in oct.
21. launch will be in nov
22. Car delivery may be in Dec.
23. some more cosmetic changes will come after first few weeks.
24. car will be in 4.5 to 5.5 range.
25.This car will surprise everybody in indian and europe market.

Interiors look real good. The first small car in India to have dash mounted gearshifter, i guess!

However, the front-end looks too much like the Civic!

lets hope hyundai launches the car looking like that on the inside - with the dash mounted gear shifter et al

They can kill the other hatches if priced right however pricing is not their forte though

cant figure out if it has ICE , 1 din or 2 din . or does it have at least provision for 2 din . this pic of interior is with a superimposed signature and hence , that part is not very clear. someone please, any guess.

The car looks very nice but I hope Hyundai prices it well. Going by the way they have been pricing their products so far, i doubt that.

Same Santro engine? If so 15- 20 will be highway figures only. And how it becomes too smooth now, better insulation?

Most probably, will only be having a hole in the dash for HU, like most other hatches.

AFAIK AT model is called magnum, base is delight and so on. some option pack is planned. Engine is reworked, fine tunned. In test cycle it gives milage around 20. New type power steering is something eletric motoroperated new technology, but not EPS and said to be better than eps. Tilt steering is available. more legroom is available for driver as compared to Santro. ICE may come as STD in some models. btw: it's 2 din. Alloy will be as after market and not std. It's premium because of more advace features, interiors, AT, some features are from C , C+ cars, sunroof. car is just not made for India, it's targetted for many cars like fiat 500 etc. Actual delivery may be in Dec. Some new features will be added in Jan at time of global launch. At moment car is in production for both AT and non AT.

From those new pics, it does look good, esp. the interiors. Dash mounted gearshift is a novel idea which is getting more common in the small hatches, as it frees up some much needed kneeroom (no more brushing co-pass knees when shifting gears). Pricing is going to be a real factor here, i hope they get it right as this car has great potential. Maybe 3.30-3.50 max for the base.

I sincerely hope that they dont offer the A/T in just the base model trim, like what they used to in the case of Santro (in order to keep the price under check). I sooo much want a decent hatch back with all the bells & whistles of the higher-end model alongwith the A/T. Lets see what they offer.

Hyundai has retained the weird petal shaped instrument cluster from the Santro! Hopefully, the speedo and other displays are different and they will provide tacho across the range.

Is it electro-mechanical? All new VW's and Skoda's (Laura in India) have this new tech power steering.

IMO this car will be a super hit if the decide to put it against the spark

i am not sure if it can beat indica or palio cause the size does matter
